I don’t get why KC only has 39 wins. They are scrappers.
As most... NEVER grasp here.. its a 162 game season... congrats for scoring runs and losing a game

OMG A team lost 3 in a row... THE SKY IS FALLING>.. EVEN THE BEST TEAM IN THE AL and NL has NEVER done that.... oh wait...... yes they have... DERP

Totally what I was basing it on. They got a win tonight, and I am even less convinced.
I mean that's the bone you were trying to waggle..... clearly... otherwise what other intelligent basis did you have?

Yeah those 39 wins really show off those hitting coaching abilities
Believe it or not KC has a higher team batting average and 120 less strikeouts than the Ms. They've tagged us for 14+ hits the past 2 nights. Gotta give credit where credit is due

They are also as a team batting over .350 during their homestand. It's a buzzsaw. Bobby Witt has been a top 5 player in the MLB in the 2nd half. It's not a cake walk at all.

Munoz struggling badly again. Brash blew it last night. Who do they go to late in games when it's close? This is getting really problematic at this point.

I didn't like trading away Sewald, but I certainly didn't think our late inning guys would fall to pieces without him. It's starting to look much worse than I thought it would be.
Sewald 6.75 ERA in AZ. Wish they would DFA him and he can come home.

Serious note. The pen was better for a bit and now has collapsed.

Another tough game, but at least it came out right. Shouldn't have left Munoz out there for 40 pitches.

On to tomorrow. We can still win this series.
I understand the gripe. Scott should have snagged Munoz before Salvy. Other then that you want to trust him. He was at 19 pitches with 1 out in 9th and 2 on.

Well, they could hypothetically play consecutive series against the Dodgers, Assholes, and Rangers; lose nine consecutive games, and, it wouldn't be a testament to them being Oakland levels of bad. I suppose it would indicate not being contenders. There also might not have been lots of individual examples to pick through other than the mere scoreboard.

Well, IF they win these next 2, then I'll feel a lot better. Sure, they barely beat a crap team. But..........not impressed. They better fix this bullpen, and soon.

If they can manage to win the next two games, I will forgive them for game one of this series! We will have a huge advantage today with Castillo going up against what looks like a bullpen day for KC. If we can't get some offense going against a bad KC bullpen then we got problems. Munoz probably shouldn't pitch until we get to Houston.

Yup. Just win the next 3. This team is what they are. A little above average, but they do play hard and never give up. I guess I just get sick of the up and down part of it. But as usual, I'll still keep watching and pulling for them. Even if I feel like being done at times. Had they blown that damn 7 run lead last night........holy hell.

Side note, it's nice to see France finally starting to hit a little.

Sewald 6.75 ERA in AZ. Wish they would DFA him and he can come home.

Serious note. The pen was better for a bit and now has collapsed.

Sewald has a high ERA in AZ because he had 1 bad outing in an extremely small sample size. 5 total appearances, 4 total innings pitched.

In his 2nd appearance he gave up 3 runs without recording an out. That's obviously going to result in a very ugly looking ERA with such a tiny amount of innings pitched for AZ.

In his 3 appearances with AZ since that 1 bad outing, he has given up 0 runs and has recorded 3 saves.

On the season, he has a 3.26 ERA and has 24 saves in 28 save opportunities.

AZ isn't going to DFA him because he had 1 bad outing.

Yeah, closers only need one real bad outing to raise their ERA somewhat significantly.

Regardless of Sewald, this team needs at least one more high leverage arm in the pen, maybe two. I always felt like we needed to add another big time arm to the pen in the off season. It was clear in big situations, SS only trusted Brash, Munoz and Sewald. You need more than three guys you can pivot to in high leverage situations. Right now we really only have two guys for that, and they are both struggling a bit.

Good start against the opener. Let's see how Castillo can do with a lead. :)

Oops, leadoff double to Garcia. :(

Settle in fellas. It's looking like it's gonna be another long, high scoring affair.
