Adcock looking a little better tonight. Not as much pressure when you're pitching cleanup with a 5 run deficit but you can't get too loose like last night. Still have to pitch.
Except for the two home runs in the top of the 9th.

Another forgettable game. We're still a young team and it shows.

Probably could have scored a lot more in the first couple innings if they had more base running discipline and held at third a bit more. Last time I saw base runners just hauling ass for home like that, as if the other team had no throwing arms, was during my grade school days.

Fells like a 2-2 split type series. This team is beyond inconsistent. Then again, there is Toronto gear in the Mariners team shop.....
They're not even trying to hide the fact that they only care about making $.

This team is helpless against sliders low and away (really anything low and away), and change ups that drop out of the zone. Doesn't matter who's in the lineup or what order they're in. Literally any opposing pitcher can absolutely dominate this team with those 2 pitches. The guys that are supposed to be the heart of the order are the worst offenders by far.

Wow, Hernandez swung at that ball a mile outside. The Twins definitely have some hitters.

Murphy has been swinging the bat, but they haven’t been playing him. Home run!!!!

It's because Cal is the better catcher so he gets the bulk of the starts behind the plate. Most teams start the better catcher even if the back up is a better (or hotter) hitter.

FWIW, I said they should probably find a way to get Murphy some more AB's a little while ago since he's been hot-ish and since this team struggles so bad offensively.

That right there is a good example of why they want Cal behind the plate. Murphy may have just cost us the game with that passed ball.

They actually don't. It's a bad offense and way more strikeouts than the Ms. Twins just have a better hitting coach(es).

They might strike out a lot, but when they hit they are effective.
