Well that's bot what Pete said. It's plain as day. So you are calling PC liar. PC never made changes for Russ he made changes to protect his defense and help his run game. Not the same at all.
It's not what Pete didn't do, it's what Russ didn't do. PETE SAYS HES LOOKING FOR A GUY WHO GETS THE BALL TO THE GUYS THAT ARE OPEN. Russ didnt do that part. Pete put together a team around Russ that did the rest, until they couldn't pay everyone.

So yeah. That's his philosophy. Thanks for posting and underscoring why it didn't work.

Russ was 6-2 when they let Russ cook. Blame it on the defense.

Cardinals game should have been over if the defense didnt commit so many dumb penalties. Not to mention having a 10 point lead with only 6 minutes left. With a 3 point lead, decided to play it safe and the run the ball w Hyde having to punt it back w 50 sec and of course the defense could not hold. Defense gave this game away.

Bills game they gave up 44 points.

They should have allowed Wilson to continue to cook. Probably would have gotten the same record but Wilson probably would have gotten the MVP or at least be happier.
Russ was 6-2 with wins against defenses to start that season who were all bottom ranked. The only exception was NE and they were bad at the time and got better as the season progressed.

And russ threw two costly ints to lose the Arizona game. One to close the half to Peterson, and the other, stupid floater of a ball that Baker intercepted.

Then, inexplicably, he threw the dumbest pick of them all to close the game.

Even Arizona's defenders said after the game that they had him figured out by the 2nd half and that they knew he would be pressured into a mistake.

Nice cherry pick. A win is a win. 6-2 is still 6-2. Like i said, 10point lead, with only 6 minutes left....We should have won that game. Stupid penalties & defense.

Dolphins were ranked #6 in defense & NE #7. 49ers were ranked #4 in passing defense. Cowboys #11. Throw in the Cardinals & Bills. 6-2 is a great freaken start!

Wilson had 28tds, 2,541yrds, 71%CP, 115.8 Rating first 8 games

I guess the three drives he ended against Arizona with INT's didn't contribute to the defense not holding a lead.

And go back and look at where the defenses ranked when we played them.

And a win is a win... unless we are talking about the defense and how they were in the top half of the league over the last 8 games.

Defense = "THE PICK" which led us to the first 43 to >8< Super Bowl win, it was also the World Class DEFENSE that helped CARRY the Offense right back to the Super Bowl again the following year, those are FACTS that aren't even up for debate...In our second go at the World title, we NEEDED the Offense (Wilson in particular) to do a pay-back & come through for his banged up Defender TEAM-MATES, BUT he messed up...No, after all's said & done, we'd have "Won That Game" had Wilson not thrown that "STUPID" 'PICK'.
How's that for "Cherry Picking"? LOLOLOL

#3 is like an ex-wife with whom you tried hard to make it work, even compromising your own values. But she wanted out... so it is best she is gone.
Now it is time to show that we have moved on too! Just think how #3 would feel if Seattle had a winning season with Geno or Drew. It would be as if Mr. Unlimited was not really a factor in our success. He might even feel ashamed.
(Of course Russ was great for Seattle, but now we need to "humiliate" him, by doing better without him...Revenge is best served cold.)
Go Hawks...

What did we do for Mr. Wilson?

1. Got rid of stars that criticized Wilson, which gutted the defense.
2. We stood by when our star RB rather retire than play with Wilson.
3. God rid of OCs to accommodate Wilson.
4. Changed completely our winning formula to accommodate Let Russ Cook.

All minor issues of course as we surely could have done more. Like what? To start, Jody surely could have set aside shares of Seahawks for Wilson,

I agree Toffee! The points you list are the issues that have the most importance.

We got rid of some of our defensive stars and let Marshawn go so that #3 could be the uncontested team leader. #24 could have made us a superbowl winner. But instead, Russ threw the biggest interception in NFL history. Maybe those defensive stars felt as if they were ready to go after that.

We changed our OCs and scheme in order to accommodate #3's quest for "stats".

This year, I hope that our improved defense will pound #3 in the opener... I believe that we will beat the Broncos.

Go Lock and Go Hawks!!!

In a similar way, I hope that the Seahawks will not acquire Baker Mayfield. This team needs to come together in the locker room. A self centered personality like "Bake-Russ" would bring confusion at a time when trust and friendships between the players need to be developed. There is something to be said about "playing for your teammates".
Our direction is clear...
Go Hawks!
