I, Rat, am taking a brief respite from my hiatus to remind everyone at 6:06pm on October 6, that #6 is still complete and utter garbage, and to gloat that I was right and everyone else was wrong. I was eviscerated repeatedly for my intrepid, formidable rightness, with promises of "taking receipts". Well, where are they? I'd like to see them. Let this be a lesson just as much as this thread should be an apology. To me: Rat, who was right.

Just cut his bum ass at this point. I don't want to trade because, in these difficult times, I would be further jaded on humanity if some other team actually wanted him. Using a third-round pick on Milroe is a dumber decision than letting Mark Sanchez use DoorDash.

If there's any consolation, our quarterback situation COULD be worse. We could be the league-wide punchline that's suffocating under Ge-blow's Ge-bloated contract, or we could still be dealing with Me3's diva bullcrap. Me3, who the Giants thought would be an UPGRADE over the current MVP frontrunner that they cut, is so bad that he can't even Ge-throw red zone interceptions because he'd rather just chuck them into the tunnel on fourth down while waving goodbye to his already-fleeting HOF chances. But at least the cameras were on him, and that's all that matters. Sherm was right. Not as right as me, Rat, but he was right. Yes, Milroe unequivocally is an historic bust, but it could be worse. And again, let's not lose sight of the fact that I was right.

Milroe sucks.

Milroe may very well be nothing more than a 3rd round shot on a developmental QB that didn't pan out, but one installed running play with him that went sideways certainly isn't the decisive nail in the coffin.

We all have a right to our own opinion Rat. Of course that includes you. But IMO you were wrong about Milroe then and you are wrong now. Could it happen that he turns out to be a bust? Yes, that is always possible. But it is also possible that he learns and progresses to become the QB he wants to be, and the QB we need him to be. Of course no one can do anything they aren't given a chance to do.
My #1 choice for QB in the draft was Dart and that isn't looking like too shabby of a selection although I think he will have to wade through some tough times before he can be what he wants to be.

We should be more effusive of praise for the dominoes that fell to land Sam Darnold… our QB position is no longer a worry for this franchise for the next 3 years minimum and hopefully longer.

What that has done is allow us to buy time for Milroe to at least get the QB coaching he desperately needs to attempt to allow his processing to catch up his god given ability. If you can marry the two you’ve unlocked a unicorn, and if not? No sweat - rinse and repeat and take a shot on some other projects in the next 2,3 year draft classes.

I don’t think anyone expected Sam Darnold to elevate to where he is today - still at just 28 years old! What I watched yesterday was one of the finest QB performances I’ve ever seen in a Seahawks uniform. He’s only going to get better - that was game 5!

We are in solid shape at QB. No sweat.

We could have used that pick on someone who could actually help, Milroe was dumb on about a thousand levels, but mostly because he was ass at Bama.

Weren't you also saying that Murphy was a bust? Guess you win some and you lose some. I thought he was a long shot myself and you may turn out right but maybe we can give him some time.

I wish you were on the draft team for the Niners or Rams.
Shadeur learning behind Stafford for a year would be scary for the rest of the league. Drafting him for the Niners would have been pointless because they already have the best QB in the division, if not the entire conference.

I've probably been wrong before, but Bustron isn't an example of that.

Yes, let's disrupt the rhythm of the offense with more random Milroe snaps. If he sucks, he sucks. We don't need sunk costs.

You realize the last QB we drafted before Jalen Milroe was Alex McGough in the 7th in 2018!?! We’ve kicked the can down the road for so long at QB that I was totally fine with the selection in the 3rd in a round that at least has much higher potential to develop into a starter caliber.

We also didn’t know if Darnold could replicate his Viking success 1 year later in a new environment - so we have also gotten lucky again that we haven’t HAD to immediately turn to the future again or we’d be up a creek this season.

In the last 15 years - the Seahawks have drafted just 3 QBs:
Russell Wilson in 2012
McGough in 2018 and
Milroe in 2025

That’s insane. I don’t know any other franchise that has been able to survive in that model. Most franchises have to take a shot on a QB at least every 2-4 years with a selection.

I was very aware of it, and brought it up frequently when Schneider would get hyped as a QB genius based on a sample size of one player. I wasn't against drafting a QB, I was against drafting a bad QB.

What 49er QB? I don't see any 9er QB as of yet equal to a Daniels, Dak, Goff, Mayfield, or Stafford.
