A win is a win but man that was a WILD ONE (My two cents)

Even though this was just the 2nd game in a 17-game season, this game was huge. All three teams in our division won today to go 2-0. After losing a close game at home in our opener, we needed this for our confidence.

I was pleased to see our offense run the ball a little better. K9 looked great, averaging 8+ YPC. I saw a factoid that our offensive line hasn't been called for a single penalty in our first two games.

Now, we have to avoid the trap game. It's at home and we should be favored by a touchdown or more. This is a classic trap game, with the Saints coming in at 0-2.

A lot to love for sure but I got to say our FB Ouzts pancaking 2 defenders on the same K9 run was a true thing of beauty.
That's right! I forgot to include that in the original post.

Ouzts was absolutely a freight train today.

He and Zabel have to be two of the most impactful newcomers to this Seahawks team.

Yeah I still like our chances against the Aints but I agree.

They better not look ahead and just go home and take care of business.

If anything, this is a great opportunity to restore some of that 12th man magic against a team that is absolutely beatable next week, and go to 2-1 ahead of a pretty big game in Arizona.

I don't think they're looking past anybody. We know they can't afford to do that, and I think the team mindset is pretty good about their prep and keeping it the same for every game, with minor adjustments based on game film. Film is scarce this time of year, so things can be unpredictable, but I think we'll be OK.

The 12th man magic is going to take some time. This was a big win, but it wasn't the signature win over a true contender like it would have been had it come over the Eagles or Bills. It's going to take a string of wins to get the mojo back. You and I might be excited, but it takes more than one win for it to infect the entire fan base.

And I'm reminded of the Giants home game last year. As a matter of fact, we haven't played well at home for several years. I'm picking us to win, but I'm not putting any money down on it.

We are not having a hard time with pass protection and we can run. And we have a deep threat. I still wanna see way more commitment to the run. There is was a 2nd and 7 that we lined up in I formation and I really thought we were gonna run and instead it was a pass that sucked. I can’t wait till we have the confidence to run it on 2nd and long. The running game starting slow is part of being a patient powerful football team. It wasn’t that slow though, even early we were getting 6, 7 yard runs. By the 3rd quarter k9 was 10 for 60 something, and charbonet needs to be pounded, not sipped on like a Pinot…. Freaking pound him straight line up the middle. K9 is the bouncer, let Charbs be the hammer
The good runs were up the gut. Same as last week. The outside runs are gonna need some adjustments. And soon!

Just the type of game we crush a team and then forget how we did it forever

I think the timing of the outside runs was bad. We were having a lot of success up the middle, that’s when we shoulda hit it outside. Coming out on first down to start a drive the defense is really trying to be balanced so they are more ready for an outside run. I swear the thing that makes you a true power team is running up the gut even when they know it’s coming and still getting three to four yards at will. We also need to embrace the tush push. I think Ouzts is under used and I haven’t even seen Brady Russell except on special teams or Callerup. Then again there were a few moments where they took some big risks throwing the ball and Darnold delivered. His mistakes come from panicking, hopefully we can get a powerful fast moving run game to help him keep the tempo up and not have time to worry about the rush. And I swear when we play action he should be rolling out cause he didn’t have much time in the pocket on a few plays. One caused an interception but another looked like it was gonna be a disaster but then all of a sudden it became a beautiful screen to Barner I think. I think kubiak is trying to be pretty creative but I think he needs to stop being in a hurry and enjoy the process of pounding the rock and set up his shots a little better.

If you want to pound the rock then pound the rock.
