Short two game series against the Nats. Jeez, can we beat those guys?

Not sure. They seem to be in “playing down to the competition” mode.

Ty is in “Jarrod Kelinic” mode aka completely lost at the plate right now.

I wonder if Ty's wrist is bothering him. He's off his game a bit.

Could be, something is way off. He’s chasing pitches off the plate and low, and missing or fouling off hitible fastballs down the middle.

I’m a big “counts guy”. Most guy’s are almost automatic outs when down 0-2. Ty (like Edgar or Junior) I never worry about him 0-2 when he’s hitting good which usually most of the time. He’s been vulnerable lately with 2 strike counts though.

Overall they went 4-5 on the road trip. It isn’t going to kill their season and it won’t help it either. If we win one more game we go 5-4 and that would have been acceptable.

Last I checked, we are tied for the top WC spot, so no reason to jump ship.

If we have an awful home stand then we can be worried. Until then, we are okay.

In the mix on August 23rd, and currently holding a wild card spot. Did everyone honestly think they would be this good this year? This has been a fun season.

To be fair, yes. We are about where we should be. Expectations were playoffs or bust. So far I would say we are meeting expectations, maybe slightly exceeding them.

Slow start but a nice win. I don't care what the score is or who they are playing. Just get those W's. They are tied for the 2nd wild card, and are 2.5 games up on the next team.
Time to start some separation. Full disclosure, I was pretty pissed when they had ONE his thru 3 innings. Then Mitch took over, again. Every time I get mad at that offense, they turn it up. So I'll just keep doing that :)

Kirby is chucking dimes. 23 throws, 23 strikes. 3d inning and he's yet to throw a ball.

Bad part is, they've hit him a few times for singles.

1-24 :)

Damn - getting hit by pitch right on the forearm bone without padding should spot the batter on second! Ouch!
