The fumble had no consequence, whereas Maragos' allowed 7 points. Rices catch allowed the Hawks to score. That speaks for itself.

He runs his route and just stops.. That is the problem.. He would be getting catches in a denver type offense where p.manning is sitting in the pocket and throws it to the reciever as he finishes the route.. However, in our offense with no pocket game from the Qb, you need to keep running and running till RW finds you. And that's not what Rice does.

Well, evidently the rest of the WR's did the same as Lynch caught more passes yesterday than all of them.
You need to realize that we are NOT running a precise offense at the moment and RW is not a robot, and not everyone is going to be open all the time.

Seems like the only defense people come up with is blaming another part of the team or coaches.
This is a strange offense.Nothing looks easy or smooth yet at the end of the game they have 400 yds of offense. The biggest problem with this O is a stupid fumble, dropped passes, penalties or missed block at the wrong time that end scoring drives or end up as FGs instead of TDs and Rice played his part in those yesterday.
10 mil for 40 catches has everything to do with the Rice debate. Not exactly moneyball by the decision makers.
His salary is about what they need to pay for Harvins raise next year. The numbers that Rice puts up can be made up by someone else for a fraction of the cost.
You have to admit his fumble was completely his own doing. You don't extend the ball out in traffic. It's not the goal line.Largent80":3hnfu29n said:justafan":3hnfu29n said:His fumble killed a possible scoring drive that is a consequence. There is a reason he hasnt been targeted more often.Only the people in the circle truly know the answer but there is a reason. If someone criticizes the WRs or Rice in this case it is always someone elses fault.Criticize the Oline and its Wilsons fault,Bevels fault or the WRs fault.God forbid Cable or Quinn gets any blame.

He makes 10 mil. Once again So What?......And his fumble cost us zero points...moot point. Fumbles and INT's happen. So cut everyone including RW and Lynch.

It's a sad state of affairs that you are presenting this as an explanation rather than as a criticism.hawk45":z0a0p9n5 said:Gameday forum hate is gameday forum hate. That forum is where you shout "WHAT IS THAT GUY DOING???" and "CUT HIM NOW" about plays regularly. It's for venting.

Well then it's fine to overreact and spew vitriol all over the place if it is because you are Passionate. The gameday forums were an order of magnitude worse than any discussion at the game yesterday, but perhaps I was simply standing in a dispassionate section.hawk45":631bqeyc said:It's a sad state of affairs that you don't understand what gameday forum is about. Sorry we don't all sit there dispassionately and drink tea. People allergic to overreaction should avoid the gameday forum, not sit passing judgment.
