We have been competitive in every game we have played this year, extending into the late stages of the last quarter of play. We are not that far away from winning against the Niners or anyone else. Buck up all you doom and gloomers. I bet when we get there you will all be at the front of the line yelling how "I told you so"!

I'm somewhat, sorta, kinda interested in Maxx Crosby for the Hawks. He's kinda perfect for us. He's just turned 27, has got 3-4 strong years in front of him, reasonable contract...I'd inquire.
I sure wouldn’t complain about it. He’s a monster

A few random thoughts:
  1. We didn't draft from 2017 -2021, resulting in we have one tradeable veteran in DK Metcalf and a lack of depth across the board. Let's say the poor drafting was 50/50 Pete and John?
  2. Hawks 2024 is better than '23 or '22.
  3. I have more faith in Macdonald than Grubb. Macdonald inherited a poor defense, he is making it work. Grubb inherited a decent offense, I haven't seen much improvement.
We will kick Bills' butt this weekend.
I’m not that down on grubb yet. He at least hasn’t seemed predictable. Biggest complaint would be struggling to run the ball but I feel like they’re working that out. One thing I like is that they mostly seem to go for the yardage they actually need instead of throwing it short and hoping for yac

We were in the lions game too until the last second when it fell apart and early Dk’s fumble killed momentum and allowed us to go down by two scores. I never gave up on that game. And Let us play the giants again and it would be a totally different game

Can you effing imagine a DL of Byron Murphy, Leonard Williams, and Maxx Crosby? Throw in Mafe, Hall, Reed...OMFG! We'd suddenly be the terror of the NFL up front. Our secondary could then feast on a QB under constant pressure. And then we'd just bolster up the LB position in the off-season.

I'm getting a Seahawk hard-on just thinking about it.

Yeah we lost two in a 3 game 10 day gauntlet against the top 2 teams in the NFC. We’re going to be just fine!

Probably take less to get him too
Oh, we'd have to pay up. But to get a bona-fide QB killer in his prime who'd raise the level of play of everyone around him...it could be a transformative trade that could give MM the defensive guru (so-called) choices beyond comprehension.

I’m joining you and I hope that doesn’t make it weird.

To the OP reddit assessment:

I dont get how you can make critical assessments about the team when there have been SOO many extenuating circumstances. New system, new staff, no RT, losing thr majority of your D line for a few games. Then, a majority of your starting secondary for a few...

One can absolutley lamment the lack of depth and talent on the O line, but to state that we havent invested? We took a LT and RT with our top 3 picks 2 years ago, and acquired a C in free agency this year.

I think most everyone thought that with the moves we made on the O line, we would have starter quality play out of the gate and that the O line was poised to be a strength. The fact that it hasnt yet turned out that way isnt doesnt mean the FO hasnt priorotized it. At worst, the unit is an incomplete, and a big one at that considering its best player has yet to suit up. I would bet dollars to donuts that if Abe was in there, the unit would be several orders better. As it stands, theybe had to take adjust splits and calls to compensate for having to take make one of their weakest spots at RG help support the reserve of the reserve RT. That has a ripple effect. If protections have to always be adjusted to compensate for the right side, there less help inside. The average talent at RG might be ok if it didnt have to constantly pivot to account for variable pressure on that side from defenses looking to exploit our RT issue.

There is no issue on the D line other than injury and the fact that the unit is still (and really just now) learning how to play together, because they literally havent had many opportunities to do so. And with Nwosu still on the shelf, they STILL havent been able to trully flex their ability. And Nwosu's absence is hard to overstate. The dude has been a recking ball against the run and the pass since he has been here. He is the kind of player you build an attack around.

Add to him, the fact that Mafe has been out on the other side and its not hard to see why edge play has been lacking.

To me, the team sits at 4-3 with an incomplete grade. They have yet to olay a game that adequately represents the full potential of who anf what they are, and the truth of what the FO has REALLY assembled. They have been through a lot and have come out of it on thr winning side, having been in a positiom to ein every game they have been in.

That, to me is an arrow pointing WAY up.

I don't necessarily agree with the OP regarding Schneider.
He seems to be the new guy that a lot of people target as the reason(s) for all problems related to the Seahawks.

GM is probably a pretty difficult job and I bet very few could do it well. Some think firing him would magically fix things.

If this team is in the same shape 2 seasons from now my opinion would more than likely change .

The team seems to be ironing out it's identity. I think the injuries are putting the breaks on the developement, but the flashes of smash mouth style is there. Just need a few more weeks? Players? Little bit of both... Looks great though.

I'd like to see more focus or mental fortitude, not that it's been an area of contention. I just don't like how it looks, (mopey and whiney). I get it though, these dudes are on the same emptional rides on gameday as fans.

All the talk here is that Cooper just made Buffalo a Super Bowl team. I don't buy it. They are as hot and cold as the Seahawks. They have issues in the first half to get going and are like the Hawks in many ways. On paper, they are a beast but with wins over The Cards, Dolphins, Jets and Titans I do not buy into their hype. Losses came from Ravens and Texans. We can take them.
The issue with tis week's game imo, is that Buffalo know how to run the ball consistently including the QB. If we don't get out of the blocks quickly they will run over us.

Agree. And i will be praying that DK pulls a miraculous recovery and can play. Folks might not like his antics, but he is a force that has to be accounted for. Without him, we have very little speed at the position. JSN isnt a fast guy, Bobo is outright slow, and Tyler has lost a step. They may all be 'smooth', but our route concepts were already being pinched.

As much as i would like to be optimistic this week, if we cant threaten their secondary with DK, this may be the game where all of those needle threading passes Geno routinely makes become INTs.

Of course, being able to run could make all of that better. But we havent shown the ability to be able to lean on the ground game yet...

The Hawks are still in need of a leader, we don't have one on either side of the ball. Ideally it's the QB, which Geno clearly is not. Until that leader emerges or is added, we're going to be inconsistent at best.
