How crazy is it that Brash is the only guy I feel confident about coming out of the bullpen anymore?
That’s crazy. Brash has been struggling with control. He hunnnngggg that pitch that was a sac fly. Got lucky. I have zero confidence in all of them by now.

Kirby was phenomenal tonight, and the offense was able to get going.

9-3 against Houston this season with 1 more to go.

Still a faint glimmer of hope but they really need to win tomorrow for any kind of realistic chance to make the playoffs.

Kirby to the rescue. And I don't blame Scott for pulling Kirby then. He struggled in the 6th, so go to the pen.

Nice to see some offense. Weird those two errors at 3rd base, but I'll take the runs. Rest of the league helped us out as the Rangers and Jays both lost. (y) That France solo homer sure seemed kind of important there in the ninth. Munoz a bit rusty to start off but got it done in the end.

No more games to give, for sure.

If M’s win tomorrow, and split with Texas, Houston would have to sweep Arizona to bounce us out the playoffs.

Kind of feels like the playoffs will come down to tomorrow’s game.

Damn that was huge. All I could do is laugh, because I told my friends as were leaving the game on Monday night: "Watch them ball out tomorrow and get a win"

Nice to see some spark, some fire, some actual patient at bats and playing with some sense of urgency. And to be honest, it's shocking that they are only a half game out of a playoff spot with 5 to go. But you know what? They ARE in this position. Here we go M's, opportunity right in front of you. Couldn't care less how it looked, just get it done and get in the playoffs.
I said yesterday they were done, and I meant it. Now I'm hoping to be cooking up some more crow recipes.

It really does. To say today's game is big would be a massive understatement. In fact, I think it would change the entire outlook of the next series. Momentum and belief are everything in baseball. I'll be at the Sting concert tonight, checking my phone constantly. Looking forward to getting strange looks when I yell at random times.

Personally, I think that losing Robbie Ray and Marco Gonzalez and playing half the season trying to rely on rookie starters in leverage games caught up to us and hurt us as much or more than any bat could have overcome.
While I do agree with this, every team has injuries. And outside of our two pitchers, we have been very healthy. Miller and Woo have been better than what we would have gotten from Marco. So we basically lost our #4 starter in Ray.

Our lineup has stayed really healthy and we haven't had any major injuries to the pen. Our core of Julio, Suarez, Teo, Cal, France, JP all have played at least 140 games so far.

Tampa lost McClanahan and Wander Franco. Texas played much of their season without Seager, Jung and have lost Scherzer. Houston didn't have Altuve for about half the season. Alvarez, McCormak and Diaz all missed significant time too.

Bizarrely, Texas' game against Anaheim has no playoff implications for the M's unless Seattle loses tonight. If the Rangers win or lose tonight, they still eliminate the M's from the division with a single win in the final series. Either they win the division with a better record or the tiebreaker in either situation.

I was kind of hoping Texas would sweep the Angels so they would rest players against us.
