Anyone paying attention to performances in TC right now would know Milroe has already made a good deal of progress this year to add to his already existing skills. And his first TC is barely started! His only real passing weakness was the short game and that is exactly what he is working on right now. When it's his time he'll be ready to shine.

Milroe sucks. I've watched him in College. He's a one read Alabama QB. His last season was 16 TDs and 11 interceptions with a stacked room. He should be elevating his players and even coaches. He did not and failed too. I have no hope. At this point, I'd rather taken a flier on Shadeur, at least he feels the "type" of QB we have with Sam Darnold. Pocket Passer who cant run nor anticipate throws.

Should've spent the pick somewhere else even if its a homerun pick.

People keep trying to compare him to Lamar Jackson coming out of Louisville (because of our head coach coming from Baltimore) but Lamar Jackson was actually great at throwing the ball. What a waste of a draft pick.

This is reminiscent of a post about Russ his rookie year, something to the tune of “he’s the worst Seahawks QB ever, and I've seen them all!”.

Maybe OP is right, but I’ll enjoy the reflection posts if Milroe gets anywhere close to his ceiling.

I'm a big Milroe supporter, and although I only saw a couple of Alabama games, I don't see what his detractors are talking about. I saw a player with extraordinary physical skills and huge potential.

A completion rate of 65 percent and 2800 yards (in both 2023 and 2024) in the SEC is nothing to sneeze at. And he did it in 2024 with a first time offensive coordinator who was so bad that they are bringing back Ryan Grubb this year. (And we all know how great Grubb is.)

For people who say that Milroe was playing with great weapons, the last time Alabama had receivers drafted in the first round was 2022, before Milroe was starting. Since then, the only Alabama WR to be drafted was Jermaine Burton in 2024 in the third round. (Yes, Ryan Williams is a future star, but he was just a freshman last year.)

It's funny how people were clamoring for the Seahawks to draft Anthony Richardson two years ago, and he barely completed 50% of his passes in college. Milroe has similar measurables but much better production.

also, people who are so adamant that he sits for 2 years at least are weird to me. If he proves to be the best option he should play, if not he can sit.

I was definitely against Richardson coming to Seattle but have a different feeling with Milroe. I love the fact they have a little buffer for him so he doesn't have to start week 5 and alter his potential.
This happened to Darnold coming out of USC and so many others.

I was not a fan of the Milroe pick but it's not because he's not a stud athlete. I don't think he's anywhere near the passer or even runner that Lamar was in college. Like, that's a fun comp and all but NFL teams didn't think he could be a passer and he still went first round.

I think someone else in here mentioned Taysom Hill and I think that's a better comp as far as how he could be used. If Darnold gets eaten alive by our dying Oline, then bringing in packages with Milroe -- who has some ability to throw but is dangerous with his feet, I think we might have something interesting. Obviously we're hoping for Darnold to be able to be quick and our concepts to have his first/second read open, but there's no question that Milroe with a ball in is hand is not electric (sometimes) to watch.

I think Milroe has solid vision in an open field but his lack of confidence in the pocket -- wanting to maximize every play and leaving that pocket (specifically that 3rd and long), is something he needs to work on if he ever wants a chance at the starting QB job. Beause while it might work a few plays, all of a sudden you have single man coverage on the outside and a couple of LBs in the box, taking away the underneath, and Milroe rushes out of the pocket and gets taken down for a yard.

He had some nice throws last night. It was nice to see his running skills, but he may default on that too easily. At least one 3rd down he tried to run when he had a receiver open at the down line. He was playing with 3's and 4's, so that factors into the eval as well.
