The problem with cheating is that if there's a loophole that allows players to get away with it, then you have to utilize it or else you'll be the player that isnt cheating, and you and your team will be relatively worse for it compared to those who are utilizing the loophole.

For example, if the refs allow a certain amount of holding, for any reason, then you should be taking advantage of that. Same with putting stickum on your hands.
