Keep in mind what Carroll accomplished with Leinart and Sanchez too. He doesn't need to be a quarterback whisperer. He only needs a point guard to distribute the ball.
That was college at USC when Pete had overwhelming talent that rarely happens in the NFL. Unless he can build another LOB defense, he's going to need more than a point guard to distribute the ball if he wants to compete for a SB again.

He's won national championships and a superbowl, only 1 of 3 coaches ever to do so. Are you sure he's wrong?

I didn't say he was 'wrong', I said that he wasn't a QB whisperer.

BTW, wasn't USC stripped of that national championship over the Reggie Bush scandal?

You said, "he's going to need more than a point guard to distribute the ball if he wants to compete for a SB again."

Pete said he wants his QB to distribute the ball like a point guard. That's what RW did too for his first few years in the league when we went to the SB 2x.

I won't argue with success, so I'm taking his preference at face value. That bodes well for us fans post-RW.

I watched some Drew Lock highlights on NFL Primetime the last couple seasons and I think he's honestly probably better than Allen at this point. Just needs the right opportunity.

So far what I’ve seen is a player who is highly underdeveloped at his position but has high potential. Who knows what he really will be or could be if his raw talent could be developed? It may or may not happen, ut the opportunity cost is for sure low.

There is little to lose with him as he comes to us as a throw-in with the Wilson trade. How cool would it be if he turned out to be worth keeping as a starter? If he developed into a legit starter the team could be developed with the picks from RW. Pie in the sky thinking undoubtedly but certainly worth watching.

But Josh Allen wasn't the Josh Allen he now is. I think Lock may surprise some people in Seattle with new coaching a decent offensive plan and being a team player and following the scheme unlike a former QB of Seattle was.
Sometime I wonder why some 12s enjoy talking out players down? I know that I am homer, I constantly assume our guys can do the job until proven otherwise. Some enjoy taking the opposite approach, to those folks, our players were assumed a bust until they excel in games.

Not sure if my observation is valid, but I noticed something in Lock's footwork, he made that extra half a step or something AFTER he decided to throw. That extra bit made his whole motion less fluid. I have been watching Dan Marino lately, Dan's release was one fluid motion and very quick. Lock's had extra stops. Anyone notice that or it's just me?

His footwork is wonky for sure. So is his throwing motion and his trajectory. Still, he's got a lot of spirit. I dunno, what do you think? You think a QB and a guy like me....?

Nice analysis. I think we all know Lock is a bridge qb for this team...or better be...
Or, worse....

For me, it doesn't matter.

I'm waiting for the draft next year for QB, but I'll enjoy the games
