Crazy he was so unproductive with those measurables. His 3 catch 35 yard 1 TD game last August against Arkansas Pine-Bluff was probably his best game of the past two seasons.

Good gamble for a UDFA though.

Not a ton of production though. I wonder why. He looks like Randy Moss. Can anyone find his short shuttle and 3-cone?

Nevermind. Still don't get it though...

Tyrone Broden

Bench: N/A
Vertical: 35" --- 19th among WR at combine
Broad: 11'4" --- 1st among WR
40-yd dash: 4.37 --- 6th among WR
20-yd shuttle: 4.40 --- 11th among WR
3-cone: 7.07 --- would have been 11th among WR at combine

6"7 is just so big. That's like TE size. I can't remember a wr this size being good in the nfl.
Me either. Once you are taller than 6’ 5” for any skill position, it almost becomes a detriment. It’s difficult getting in and out of breaks especially at 10 or 15 yard intermediate routes. Definitely hard to be a possession receiver.

A scouting report I found on Broden from The Draft Network

Strengths
Size Above average ball skills
Body control in tight areas
Use age of size/speed on go balls
Creative RAC

Concerns
Route running
Stiffness in lower half
Explosiveness of LOS
Stagnant in and out of routes
Body catcher

IMO the concerns out weigh the strengths for a legit NFL WR. He could be successful as a special teams player as a gunner I do remember the Seahawks have had success converting WRs that are vertical athletes into solid special teams players. Alex Bannister comes to mind

Won't even make the roster. I mean, I wish him well but he couldn't catch in college. Had a 25% drop rate. Probably brought in to see what he could do on special teams coverage maybe.

They brought this guy in to push Bobo, it'll just make Jake stronger.

How foolish of the Seahawks to sign this guy in an attempt to poke the sleeping dragon that is Jake Bobo!
