Of course not but my "silly" question was about Darnold and what he needs to do, not what Milroe needs to do.

I need a larger sample size for my eyes to form an intelligent decision on either one of them but who says my opinion here needs to have facts behind them 😂

I’m of the thought that the job is Darnolds to lose. Milroe needs to come out and really flash some serious stuff to take the job.

I think the staff will back off any 10% trick for Milroe and protect/train him as the future. He has all the stuff to do it. Darnold will make his play to be a two year wonder, but if he doesn't produce improvement by the TEAM two years running he is not serving his purpose and changes will be made.

He would just need to be better than the other QB(s) on the roster. He can win literally anything and it won't matter if he still ends up getting thoroughly outclassed in training camp/preseason.

Interesting that there are less votes for winning the Conference than winning the Division. Ya'll do know that if the Seahawks win the conference they are in the Super Bowl?! If Darnold plays all the games and gets them to the Super Bowl, then its a no brainer going forward.
People are answering based on the minimum of what they think he will need to do to be QB 1. Hence why they answered winning division over winning the conference. It would be kind of silly to just have everyone answer reaching the top choice if they really believed that’s what he needed to do.. Don’t you think?

Agreed 1000%.

He's got basically 2 years to show he can be The Guy here.

If he doesn't, then Milroe takes over.

It's that simple.

I picked, "Help get this team to the playoffs". He really just needs to deliver the ball on time and not turn it over to keep the job. "Wins" is an indirect measure of a QB's performance at best.

Milroe has the physical tools to supplant Darnold at some point, but I believe Kubiak is going to be more interested in consistency than heroics in the long run. Darnold is the more reliable player currently.

I think QB coach Andrew Jonocko is going to have a huge part in Milroe's development. Moreso than Kubiak. I know all three of Darnold, Lock and Milroe work with Carson Palmer's brother Jesse already

Darnold doesn't NEED to win the conferance to remain our starter. I voted help get the team into the play-offs because it is closest to what I think is required, but even with that, if he gets injured when we are 6:4 and then Milroe goes undefeated for the rest of the season all the way to the SB then while Darnold helped us make the play-offs Milroe will be starting in 2026. Having said that even if we get 8 or 9 wins this year (no playoffs) I think it likely Darnold would be given another year unless Milroe / Lock stars in practice or some other QB falls into our lap.

I don't see that happening. If Darnold, God forbid, gets injured then Lock comes in. Milroe will be redshirted for a year maybe two so he can learn only. He will have a couple packages yes to get his feet wet but he will not be the everyday starter unless both are out. They want to develop him right. That will take time.

More reliable and NFL experienced.
Milroe has yet to face the kind of pressure that burns up a lot of College level Quarterbacks.
I think Milroe has the exceptional tools to be a force in the NFL and, but he's going to have to turn on the speed reading of Defenses, and I doubt like hell he would be able to develop if he's thrown into the fire too early.
Plus, it's going to take a lot of repetition to get his mechanic's down to auto pilot.

An excellent point. If we could magically take away Geno's absolutely boneheaded interceptions, the inexplicable big yardage sacks and the befuddling intentional grounding plays we would have made the playoffs and Geno would probably still be here.

Darnold needs to not do stupid shit and I think he will be well received in Seahawkland.
