As with most QBs, it's going to be contingent on whether Kubiak designs/calls an offense that plays to Milroe's strengths/comfort. If Kubiak makes him play like Purdy, he probably won't be successful. If he gets to play like Jalen Hurts, he has a much better chance of success.
Agreed. Do what the Ravens did with Jackson. Keep it simple, play to HIS strengths, allow him to improve each year, then add more to the playbook.

We are last year's Vikings. They bided their time for a year with Darnold to give JJ time, and we are probably doing the same for Milroe.

Just shows you how young Darnold is. This is his 8th season in the NFL, and he's only 28.

Michael Penix and Bo Nix, both in their second year, are 25. By the time they're in their 8th year, they'll be 32.

Remember locks post game interview after the eagles?!?!? He beat the eagles

The interview was emotional and nicely done. Almost a tear-jerker, lol. It was, however, a must-win game at that point of the season and the Eagles were a very good team.

Well, it also shows QBs are better off staying 4-5 years in college. Oh and not getting drafted by the Jets

Well let's hope the season starts like the Vikings but ends differently for us than it did for them. (ie Sam wins a big game for the division title; Sam wins his first playoff game, etc.)

I don't think that would have caused them to change their plans.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that.

No shot they let a SuperBowl winning QB leave in that situation.

Nick foles
I brought that up previously and heard crickets. Thought maybe others thought it was a dumb comparison. Glad to see there are two of us.
Nick Foles wasn't let go by the Eagles after his SuperBowl win.

I looked this up.

He was brought back in 2018 (the year after he won the SB) to BACKUP Carson Wentz again.

Wentz got hurt ONCE MORE in Week 15 and that enabled Foles to eventually lead the Eagles to the playoffs where he would have some success there again (though he wasn't able to get to the SB again).

However, following that, the Eagles wanted to bring him back and even offered to pick up the $20 million option on his contract. The same day, however, Foles informed the Eagles that he would void the option, making him a free agent.

So Foles thought he could cash in and be a successful starter elsewhere while the Eagles wanted him to stick around.

Hence, my original statement stands. If Sam had won the SB for the Vikings (for example), he would still be in Minnesota as their QB1 going forward and McCarthy would more than likely have been traded for picks.

I looked this up, Trent dilfer is the only Super Bowl winning qb to be released the next season. 🤔

You really take this too serious man… I don’t care if you ramble on or shut up. Don’t worry about me dude
okay...I do take myself way too seriously, Sperry.

I keep forgetting we are supposed to be fellow Hawks fans.

My deepest apologies. 200

EDIT : in fact, I went ahead and just erased that entire comment. After re-reading it myself, it's just not worth being such a dickhead.

It’s all speculation and opinion anyway right? No one will ever definitively know what they would’ve done if SH won a Super Bowl…it’s hypothetical, which is impossible to argue. My OPINION is they would have kept Sam and also hung on to JJ for at least another year…

I just hope Sperry didn't put me on ignore now and missed my apology.

Didn't mean to take things this far.

I think when I said that "I looked this up" to clarify that I did my research on Foles, and then he replied with "I looked this up", I honestly thought he was mocking me which was probably why it rubbed me the wrong way and I responded like such a sarcastic asshole.

Seems I'm my own worst enemy. sigh...
