An excellent point. If we could magically take away Geno's absolutely boneheaded interceptions, the inexplicable big yardage sacks and the befuddling intentional grounding plays we would have made the playoffs and Geno would probably still be here.

Darnold needs to not do stupid shit and I think he will be well received in Seahawkland.
I really wish that your last sentence was one of the poll questions! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Ask and ye shall receive. 🙃

So, tangentally, if Darnold gets injured, who replaces him, Lock or Milroe? It should be Lock, right? But how is that going to go in the qb room.if Milroe is being inserted in special packages while Lock sits? It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Darnold is in a tough spot too, knowing that one misstep or injury could derail his career if Milroe flashes. Hopefully he doesn't play tentative as a result. I guess we'll see...fun times. Feels like 2012 all over again. Go Hawks!

If Darnold stinks this year and the team is in the dumpster, they're drafting a QB first round next year to start in 2026 unless Milroe somehow turns into Lamar Jackson at the end of the season.
I completely disagree unless Milroe shows regression not progression. Milroe may not turn out to be the QBOTF but they will give him more than 1 year to figure it out. They feel they are both set up for the present and the future at this point. I can’t see where they draft a QB next year unless we have the number 1 pick and best player is a generational type QB. I see good QB’s next year but not generational.

I think it depends what Milroe shows in camp and in preseason. They may not use a roster spot on Lock.

Darnold's first obstacle. He must decisively out-compete Drew Lock, the QB loved by John Schneider, the President of our football operations.

Darnold's second obstacle. He must show mental toughness every game that he can perform with Drew Lock ready to step in and take his job.

The closest choice I see to anything I would agree with, is the last one where he gets compared to Gino. Gino can look like the league MVP at times, and when we need a 2-minute comeback, I believe in him. But he also did the same type of stupid shit that Dan Prescott does, and that's why neither of them are A-level quarterbacks. Darnold's the guy you get when you won't make the commitment to draft a great quarterback, pay for one as a free agent, or trade for one. He's a gamble. The Vikings knew more about him than we did, and they passed. You know you won't go far with Gino, and you're not sure if you will with Darnold. I'm cautiously optimistic. But I'm going to every game this season and without a great attitude it could end up being misery.

I have no idea what the plans are for Milroe. I was elated when we drafted him, as I saw him as a 'Darnold enhancer'. But will he be?

I am the lone vote of Milroe takes over in 2027. I think regardless what Darnold does, if Milroe shows any improvement by 2027 then he takes over. Milroe will be 24 and Darnold 30 at that point. Chances are Milroe may not work out but I'd still think we would be looking for the next QB unless Darnold wins the SB.
I'm rooting for Darnold and I think its possible last year wasn't a fluke and he's just a stud now. But I LOVED the Milroe pick so if he's similar to Lamar and ends up being so good you move on from Darnold I would be as excited as anyone.

The Vikings were always going to go to JJ McCarthy in the end.

Darnold would had to have won the friggin' SuperBowl for them to change their plans.

Sam was there on borrowed time from the get-go so it wasn't exactly a case of "well...you led us to 14 wins but we still think you suck so BYE!".
