Some of you owe Brandon Browner a big apology.

Yes, it was a preseason game.

However, Browner was phenomenal and showed he is not a weakness but a strength of this team. He had a hand in at least 3 key plays (4 if you give him credit for a stripped ball that we did not recover.) He was everywhere during that game.

I watched the game with 4 Denver fans (family from Denver) and it seemed like every play the Seahawks made #39 was part of it.

After a while they just started referring to him as "G*D*MN 39!". Also the "Who is #39 and why is he singlehandedly ruining my weekend?".

One preseason game does not mean much, but Browner has been doing this for a year now and it seems like everyone keeps trying to find reasons to pick holes in his game. Whatever his weaknesses, he is a solid, physical player that makes this team better.

Interesting... the reason this post had to be made is there are definitely holes in his game - BUT... as you say, he brings exceptional intangibles to this team which I think we all love! Bold prediction: Browner at Safety in the coming years while Chancellor moves down to LB.

Last year, the play that wow'd me the most above all his strips and INTs was him chasing down Adrian Peterson on that 74 yd run to start the game. I could not believe how he caught up to him the way he did.

The ApologyTrain rolled through here about midway through last season. I think most everyone got on board (myself included) at that point...

The only "holes" in Browner's game, are the weeks he missed because of an incredibly stupid PED offense.

Other than that,...........

.......I just see him and Sherman as the "premier" (and standard-setting) CB tandem in the NFL (for years-to-come). Chancellor and Thomas are going NOWHERE (the "expendables" are always on the D and O-lines).

I hope this ENTIRE (core) backfield can stay together for the (long) foreseeable future. Of course, that's up to the FO.

Schneider's gonna have to get "creative".

BB is easily one of my favorites on the team. Just love his brand of football and knack for game altering plays.

Browner's playing style is just brutal, and I love it. He is an extremely important piece of our secondary.

The apology train did not just run through, go back and look at the things people were saying about Browner when they thought we extended him.

Which is odd considering we got him as a flying bargain last year, he deserves to make a lot more than he does. I would say he is just as important as Kam to our defense.

Yes, you can replace him with another corner but you cannot replace the sheer impact his physical nature has on a game. His hits make a huge difference, go watch the film of Steve Smith more interested in fighting than catching the ball or notice the game against the Patriots where his hit against Welker took him out for a few plays and probably impacted the amount of plays Welker played in the whole game, or the Green Bay game last year, or ???. His style of play works because it affects how other players play far after that single play.

He is almost a linebacker playing corner, but one with pretty good coverage. You don't replace that easily.

People need to appreciate him while he is here because I don't think we will be able to keep him too much longer considering how many other teams would love to have someone like him frightening/frustrating wideouts into playing poorly.

I agree. Read the thread about Walter Thurmond. It was a full on boiling pot of ridiculousness until the first preseason game happened. Then it was like "Oh, well keep Browner around until next year when Walter is fully back to his better than Richard Sherman form."

The team has the best cornerback tandem that it has had since Dave Brown and Terry Taylor were back there and everybody can't get rid of Browner fast enough. Amazing. He isn't as fast as Thurmond. Who cares? He's as much of an "intangibles" player as you will find and the guy is hungry for the ball, for contact, for victory. What more do you want? The combo of BB and Sherm is deadly.

And then there's this:

I wouldn't let go of Brandon Browner or Antoine Winfield in favor of WT3. He gets injured again and we're up the creek.

That is sad that he's already thinking retirement. I know you have to be prepared, but it is sad. I remember the day the doctors told me I couldn't run again and I was devastated. I would do ANYTHING if it would allow me to run again. Not wanting to go through a process and not able to are different. I understand where he's coming from. At what point do you say enough? It sounds like Walter's already a bit defeated. I feel for him. 3 ankle reconstructions, 1 knee rebuild, 3 major spinal surgeries, one first rib resection, and I wish like hell I could retire or even be given disability, but no such luck. Walter's set for life I'm assuming, at least if he makes it through season 5 I believe for retirement benefits.

I don't hate him or blame him, but I'm a Hawks fan not a WT3 fan. :p

I always love that gif, because Jennings tries to bow up on him, and just gets man-handled as shit. C'mon, man! Browner will wreck your life!

Browner just keeps getting better and better. He'll be 30 next season, he's not the kind of guy you'd expect to age with grace, and I'm sure he won't come cheap, but jeez. The guy just forces turnovers. And you know how Pete feels about turnovers. Gonna be very interesting to see how Seattle handles that situation, especially if Browner ends up getting big offers from other teams.

When my neighbor (diehard Broncos fan who went to the game) admits he was wrong about Browner, that says a ton.

Trust me.

I can't help but lmao every time I see that. Reason being is that I remember clearly Jennings talking about how he doesn't like to be touched. Sooooo funny.
