Bijian Robinson is 3rd string on depth chart and didn't play in preseason

After spending a first round pick on Bijian, the Falcons has taken a unusual approach for their prized rookie. Bijian is listed as 3rd string on their depth chart, and didn't see any action in their first preseason game. Before and during draft, Bijian was labelled as a generational talent and can't miss draft pick.

They have Cordarrelle Patterson and Tyler Allegaier (he had a solid rookie season) so them drafting Bijan was confusing in the first place.

Robinson being used in a rotation brings up to question why burn a high pick on a rotational RB. Maybe in due time they envision him to be a bell cow back. But truthfully Tyler Allegaier is already that type of back.

From everything I read and saw, Bijan was a top 5 talent in the draft. They're just bringing him along slowly. It's preseason. Falcons are a bit of a sleeper team this year. That division kinda sucks, and it's not inconceivable that they could win it if things like Ridder turning out okay pan out.

Todd Gurley played sparingly in his rookie preseason. He didn't play in the 1st 3 regular season games. Rookie RBs struggle with pass rush assignments and QBs are too valuable to risk. If he's still the #3 RB come Week 13 then there's an issue.
