Context
Hart wasn't expected to be a significant contributor entering the season. He began the year on the practice squad and was elevated because the Chargers' offensive line was devastated by injuries, particularly at tackle. He ultimately started multiple games at right tackle and became a stopgap solution rather than a planned starter.
The Good
When he first entered the lineup, he had some surprisingly solid performances.
In his first start against Miami, PFF charted him with 0 pressures allowed on 34 pass-blocking snaps, which was a remarkable result considering he had barely played meaningful NFL football in several years.
At one point during the season, local Chargers coverage noted that he was playing well enough to keep higher-paid veterans off the field.
The Not-So-Good
As the season progressed, the limitations became more apparent:
PFF graded him poorly in several games.
Against Miami, despite the team win, he later received a very low overall game grade (37.7).
He battled ankle and knee injuries, which further affected both his availability and effectiveness.
He was part of an offensive line group that struggled badly once injuries mounted across the roster.
