Heck yes I’m optimistic.

Any Spencer Rattlers or Malik Willis or Will Levis or…you know…saviors… available in this next draft?

The whole thing is just a roller coaster. One week Geno sucks, one week Geno Rocks! One week DK Rocks, one week DK sucks!. There's no mission. There's no consistency.

There's one person that is responsible for this this season, and I'm not a hater, just having been a boss, the buck stops here:

MM.

We're at 5 out of 6. Just saying. Said it two weeks ago, and I'll ******* say it again. This is all feeling very Mora-Esque to me. It's like deja vu all over again.
Excuse me, are you lost? This is the optimism thread. Our team sucks is in basically every other thread. 😂

I'm optimistic!

Our defense played a solid first half and stuffed the run. Our offense led the Rams in every category except first downs (22 v 20). All while giving up 3 turnovers and 12 penalties.

We have a solid football team. Our OL is not great, but if Geno uses his outlets (who were wide open in the flat on 6 of his 7 sacks) we could be fearsome.

I even think our goal line offense at the end would work next time if they put Charbonnet in there instead of Walker.

Hate to keep saying it, but...

Even Malik Willis can play quarterback on a team with an OL and run game.

It's almost like playing a different sport.

This is a running league now. Passing EPA/play is down so far that rushing EPA/play is going to overtake it soon.

Doesn't make sense to pay Geno $20m a year then.

Which is why certain people are in here are motivated to misrepresent how well Geno's playing. They don't actually have a case that he isn't doing an outstanding job in context. They're just afraid that if they acknowledge it on this board, JS will see it and sign him to a $300m contract. Or something. I dunno.

He shouldn't get a gigantic contract. But it's because of his age, not because of his performance.

3 Picks, their 5th loss in 6 games. Those are the numbers that don't lie. Geno had the ball in his hands AGAIN. With a chance to win a game AGAIN. He didn't get it done, AGAIN. He opened up his post-game by putting it on himself. That, I really appreciated hearing. And he's right.
That's not even true. Seattle ran the ball four straight times in their final drive of overtime after Geno put them in the red zone on a 30-yard pass to JSN. In reality, they took the ball out of his hands at the end of the game and came up short.

I have no idea why people feel the need to lie about circumstances to force an argument.

They could just... edit their viewpoint based on the facts of the circumstance.

I will never understand it.

A lot. But maybe they shouldn't be if Mailk Willis can get the job done at a fraction of the cost.
I think the issue is that Malik Willis doesn't have the skillset to sustain a passing attack down the stretch. He'd get figured out.

But the fact that he can do well in spot duty in a better situation with a better cast and better playcaller compared to how genuinely awful he was in Tennessee... I think it illustrates just how severely quarterback production is affected by the circumstances and environment a quarterback is placed in.

This.

Williams Baker Mayfield who was actually playing good behind a shitty Cleveland line. He’s not Russ who actually had a decent last season in Denver (damage was already done).

He’s the Tennessee version of himself that just so happened to have a couple of good games.

Here and there
Hey everyone,

I just wanted to take a moment to apologize if I’ve been a bit over the top in my posts lately, especially when the Seahawks aren’t performing the way I’d hoped. I know my emotions can get the best of me, and as passionate fans, we all feel it when the team struggles. I’ve let some of my frustration spill over here, and I realize it might come off a bit intense. I just want the best for this team, and sometimes it’s hard to hold back when things aren’t going our way.

I realize that being an angry fan, as much as it feels cathartic in the moment, doesn’t change the score or fix the issues on the field. More than that, it doesn’t make this community any better for the rest of you. The Seahawks have given us some incredible highs over the years, and no matter what, they deserve our support. I’m going to work on keeping things more positive and balanced, even when the game’s tough to watch.

I also recognize that in the heat of the moment, I sometimes say things I don’t really mean. Frustration can lead to dumb comments, and I know I’m guilty of that at times. When emotions are high, it’s easy to lose perspective, but looking back, I realize it’s not fair to the team or to other fans. I’ll do my best to think before I post and avoid letting those raw feelings take over.

The Seahawks have always been about resilience, and as fans, we have to embody that too. Every team goes through ups and downs, and staying positive in those hard moments is what makes celebrating the wins so much sweeter. I need to remember that we’re all here for the same reason: we love this team, whether they’re soaring high or fighting through a rough patch.

No matter what, I’m not giving up on the Seahawks. This team has shown time and again that they can rise from challenges, and I believe in them, even when things don’t look great. We’ve all seen those miracle comebacks, those last-minute plays that make us proud to be Seahawks fans. It might be tough now, but I’m here for the long haul, through every high and every low, because that’s what being a fan is all about.

And let’s not forget, we’re all united by this same passion. Win or lose, we’re a part of something bigger—a community that stands by the Seahawks and by each other. It’s easy to lose sight of that when emotions run high, but at the end of the day, we’re all on the same team, rooting for the same goal. Let’s stick together and keep that spirit alive!

And as a fellow member of this forum, I just want to say how much I appreciate everyone here. This community makes it so much easier to ride the highs and lows of being a Seahawks fan. It’s a privilege to share this space with people who truly get what it means to bleed blue and green. Thank you all for being here, for the laughs, the debates, and for sticking with our team through it all. Looking forward to celebrating more wins together—and maybe some rants too, as long as we’re all in it for the love of the Seahawks!

Thanks for putting up with my rants and letting me get this off my chest. I’m grateful for this community, and I’m looking forward to sharing better vibes next game. Here’s hoping for a stronger outing next time—go Hawks! And hey, if things get rough, at least we can always rely on the Seahawks' defense… to keep us all on the edge of our seats!

I am optimistic that perhaps this entire season....is basically a pre-season run for MM and JS. Maybe that's why it looks so Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. They aren't trying to make the team win as a unit or script a game vs an opponent etc. Perhaps it's purely to just see what each player is and is not capable of doing, what plays are and are not capable of being run with certain talent or opposing talent. How certain teams especially rivals respond and adapt to certain plays and schemes. Maybe MM and JS are playing chess not checkers and this whole thing is to figure out the divisional rivals so they can hit them in the mouth harder moving forward (and learning their coaching styles of how they do adjustments based off of what they see), as well as just seeing who on the team truly is or is not capable of fitting in the end game picture.

This is where I am optimistic, if I see this entire season as an evaluation process and not actually trying to win. Perhaps it really does set everything up. Maybe that's MM's magic behind the "disguises" he uses an entire season to disguise what they are and learn the opponents, then play to that. If I spent the first two days of a rock paper scissors competition always throwing a rock after 3 consecutive scissors, then on championship day I suddenly throw 4 scissors in a row...I'm over simplifying here, but you get the gist.

I did not really see your previous posts, so I didn't see anything that bugged me, but I will write it takes a very mature human being to look back and acknowledge that perhaps their emotions got the better of them, and an even stronger person to be vulnerable by admitting to it publicly. Cheers.

It's not out of the conversation that we could go 6-11 this year, going 2-6 the rest of the way. We're 1-5 in our last six games, and have lost an almost unthinkable four in a row at home. While we're going backwards, both the Cards and the Rams have won three in a row and are trending upward. It's not quite pack it in yet, but getting close to it.
There is a good chance we don't win a single game in our division.

Doesn't make sense to pay Geno $20m a year then.
This argument doesn't make any economic sense.

The average salary for a starting NFL quarterback who is not on a rookie contract is $45m/year. Geno at $20m/year would be an absolute steal. On paper, anything under $35m/year would also be a steal.

And sure, you could kick the tires on the Darnolds and Mayfields of the world every offseason, leaning into the inefficiencies of the QB market and finding that cost-to-performance bargain. But if you miss on that QB once, with a team with playoff aspirations, you're probably out of a job. That's why QB contracts are so high.
