I think the problem today was confusion on the OL blocking assignments when the defense lines up 7 guys on the line and drop 2-3 into coverage.
Yep.
I saw it with my own eyes, and then the color commentary guy mentioned it.

I believe that aspect will be addressed, hopefully accounted for!

Think about this :

Unlike the Rams, we didn't lose to bottom-feeders (aka being the victim of the Any-Given-Sunday thing).

And yes...I still consider the Panthers a bottom-feeder.

We are 9-3.

Let's have some perspective.

GO HAWKS!

The Panthers are sneaky good and can beat any team in the league

I think Mac is awesome. He is killing it. Even the clock . Masking this O line has to be one of the more difficult chores in all the NFL. We have won 19 of 29 games in Macs time. The Hawks never had a coach do that. But man the NFC West is a juggernaut. Nice shut out.

I think the offensive line is about continuity. Look around the league and see our cast-offs like Pocic starting. LW whooped that Viking 88 million dollar offensive lineman.

There were a number of adjustments in the second half. All of a sudden the plays started having breathing room, first downs were happening, and we started having great success running off the left side in particular, both Charbs and Walker.

First half, though, it felt like the Vikings had everything sniffed out, and that's to be expected. It's late in the season and there's tape on Kubiak.

It might not have been pretty to watch but we are beating the teams were are supposed to and pretty comfortably. None of the circus playing down to teams like in the past.

Yep, excellent adjustments. End of half time management was brutal. But, added 3 more points. First half defense by Minnesota was impressive for sure.

When Darnold was signed here, the idea was that he would not f*ck things up while the Hawks lean on their Defense and RUNNING attack.

Defense was awesome.

And K9/Charbs combined for over 100 yards and a TD.

Darnold still hasn't thrown a pick since the Rams game but the fumbles continue to plague him.

All that said, however, this Defense is good enough to help account for his mishaps provided they aren't too many.

He does need to be better (and Kubiak needs to USE HIS F*CKING BRAIN) but I guess I underestimated Flores D affecting him like it did (or maybe I shouldn't have since Brian Flores knows Darnold all too well).

All in all, it was a win that was VINTAGE Seahawks Football : DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE (with a sprinkling of a Running game).

9-3 b*tches!!

GO HAWKS!!
The Vikings prepared for the Pass-Happy Darnold because they knew that our O-line would not be able to handle the stunts they'd prepared to hit them with, I mean hey, the Rams gave them the recipe, only KK had a new game plan to counter, and like D-Law just said, you prepare for the team that's in front of you, and both KK's Offensive game plan & MM's Defense just slammed the door on the Vikings prep book.
What I don't get, is that some people not being happy that Darnold didn't go full throttle and throw the ball more (put it up for grabs) I mean 26 to ZIP? It's called STRATEGY,
oh and, the Rams took the Panthers for granted, and played down to their perceived level, and it cost them ;-)

Minnesota’s defense against the offensive line and play calling of Kubiak is top tier.

It seems Kubiak had no answers for the scheme 8 in the box and casino blitz game of Brian Flores.

This is an eye opener to say the least.

I was not proud of the offensive showing of play calls and lack of counters by Kubiak. That is an Achilles heel of this team.

Against a more functional offense, this game is a 50/50 game and not a shutout.

Let’s just call it for how it was offensively for Seattle.

I’d like to see a complete game on all fronts for Seattle against a good playoff team before we can anoint Seattle as NFC powers, in which, Seattle, mind you, has not won against a (good) team with a winning record yet.

Of course, you take a win when you can but this bend but don’t break approach cannot be relied upon come playoff games.

Seattle, and Kubiak, needs to perform against top tier opponents for Seattle to make deep runs.

As good as Seattle’s defense is, currently, Seattle’s offense is not complementary and it’s December right now. Seattle and their offensive coaching needs to perform against playoff caliber teams, we cannot solely rely on the Seahawks defense to always beat the other team.

Chances are the other team will not have a backup QB playing in these critical end of the year stretch games.

Seattle offensively has to do and be better, point blank.

The Seahawks defense won this game, period.

Isn't that Minnesota summed up though? They were a 12 win team last year. Other than QB most of those pieces are still there.

I do think Seattle made adjustments second half and ran the ball a ton more. They also went super conservative, probably because they knew they could and didn't need to take risks.

People get way caught up in the record. They know Darnold well, they blitz as much or more than any team. Their defense was impressive the first half. Very few teams have held the Hawks offense down like that. Shoot, the Hawks had well over 400 against the Rams.

Maybe some of us (not you but others) need to realize that a Brian Flores Defense is unique and not like other defenses.

It's the first defense that truly put a stop to the Darnold/JSN show.

No other Defense has done that and fortunately for the Hawks, this is the only time they face such a defense.

Other defenses may try to copy what the Vikings did but they can't copy Flores's schemes.

He's a guy who seems to get it. Sometimes it's just better to be a coordinator. Some guys are not meant to be a HC, but can bring a ton to the table as a coordinator.
