That’s right, I’m going there.
Despite having the face of an angel and a body sculpted by Greek Gods, I’m afraid that I’m going to have to pull the pin and call for the firing of head coach Mike Macdonald after the first game of his second season.

Now, I know some of you will get very upset at this post. Some will think I’m trolling, others may ignore/block me. To each their own.

Unfortunately, I’m at the point where I’ve lost confidence in the guy.

I could excuse the hiring of Ryan Grubb last year. Coach Mac and Schneider wanted to find a creative way to utilize Metcalf, Lockett and JSN, and they thought after Grubb’s success at UW with Penix, maybe this would be the guy to jettison Geno up to the elite category of QBs.

As we all know now, that clearly backfired. Where I blame Macdonald, however, is his unwillingness to restrain Grubb during the season. He kept citing his “time management” difficulties for not focusing on the offense.

Well, that’s too damn bad. You’re the head coach. Your job is to manage time appropriately. Your job is to hold your coordinators accountable. Your job is to be proactive, not reactive with an obvious weak leak in the coaching chain.

Macdonald kicks Grubb to the curb after the season, and rightfully so, only to bring in Kubiak Jr. Why Klint Kubiak? Was it because he’d actually fall in line and be more of a yes man, as opposed to the dancing on tables shenanigans of Grubb? Potentially.

That’s what has gotten me to the precipice of stating such an outlandish and quite frankly outrageous suggestion as to call for the firing of Mike Macdonald. One game into the regular season, we saw what Kubiak was capable of: mediocrity. He was outschemed and outmatched by Star Trek villain Robert Saleh, resulting in a loss that NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED!!

Now, the team is 0-1, going a measly 1-7 in their last 8 home games, allowing baby faced Purdy and his half a team to waltz into our house and throw 2 interceptions, lazy ducks and walk away with a W and an injury designation. UNACCEPTABLE!!

Therefore, I’m left with no choice but to throw out this truth bomb that apparently only I can see and call for the firing of Mike Macdonald, simply because of his inability to find a competent offensive coordinator. This is an offensive league, and he’s allowed that side of the ball to go to hell. I won’t stand for it!

This ship is sinking, my fellow 12s.
It’s time to start throwing dead weight overboard.

Meh.

The nice thing about threads like this is that if the Seahawks keep him and then do anything but reach the Super Bowl, one will inevitably use it as a pretext to go "See, see?? I was right!"

So you're kinda relying on the Seahawks not reaching the Super Bowl, which happens to 30 out of 32 teams annually. Way to go out on a limb, Nostradamus.

Some are just dedicated to misery, it's odd, but it's reality.

Dumb thread, silly indeed considering the team was poised to get a W if Darnold had not been run into fumbling the freaking ball on the 12 yard line. We can just agree to disagree.

The D did a good job though the O was at times lacking and there is work to do; but if Darnold had NOT fumbled a much different song would be heard from the OP. If the D tightens up on allowing 3rd down conversions by opponents the team will win a lot of games.
