I'm optimistic that it couldn't get much worse and the only way is up, I'm optimistic that this team is still young with a ton of talent, I'm optimistic the coaching staff that's in it's year together will get it right and begin to feel each other out...

My optimism is... weird. Its pessimism too, in a way.

I think if we can get Geno out of hero ball mode, we can compete a bit. Get the run going, steady the line...

There's just a lot of work to do first, and some of it might include a new offensive staff next year.

Geno isn't a hero ball quarterback. We just can't keep being the absolute hardest team in the NFL for a QB to thrive on.

I think they realize this on some level and that there will be changes. Desperation will force action.

I dont know if it's all hero ball but more of trusting what hes practiced. There appears to be miscommunications on routes and timing maybe because of the complexity. I just think Geno and the rest of the offense need more time to gel in this new scheme.

DK not being there was a bonus for us. We didn't need him to win the game, and it forced Geno to look for JSN and his tight ends more, and they performed admirably.

You could say the same for the Rams not needing Puka to win the game.

Nah. JSN is a potential star. That's why we made him a number one pick. And Stafford doesn't just lock onto or force it to guys just because they're paid so much, or will have some kind of a tantrum if he doesn't.

Damn you really hate DK that much to make him sound like a scrub of a player

Getting the offensive line fixed is going to make a huge difference. I think it’s coming.

I don't think you can look at Geno's turnovers in a vacuum. The O-line is still awful, and Geno had to play out of his mind to give us a chance to win—even before the turnovers.

There are reasons to be optimistic. The defense is talented and improving, and the offense is great for stretches. But this team will continue to be highly volatile until they shore up their pass protection and fix the run. The numbers don't lie. High volume passing + a pressure rate nearly 20% higher than average is a recipe for disaster. It's the football equivalent of Russian Roullete—catastrophe is always one snap away.

3 Picks, their 5th loss in 6 games. Those are the numbers that don't lie. Geno had the ball in his hands AGAIN. With a chance to win a game AGAIN. He didn't get it done, AGAIN. He opened up his post-game by putting it on himself. That, I really appreciated hearing. And he's right.

I don't hate him. I'm just bringing up some factual information. JSN caught 7 passes for 180 yards, and it would have been 9 catches for 250 yards if not for the penalties. That was a breakout game for him. Guys like AJ Barner and Cody White caught 6 passes for about 75 yards. Tyler Lockett caught 3 passes for 63 yards. That's like 320 receiving yards for those four players. I don't think we missed out on production from our receiving corp in DK's absence yesterday, and other players benefitted from it. I don't see how you could really argue that. DK not playing wasn't the reason why we lost yesterday.

Im just pointing out that you insisted that the Rams were missing Puka was a big deal when in fact it wasnt for them. If that is the case, then us missing DK is a big deal too.

It didn't look at all like a whole team to me. It looked like half a team to me or less. Dumb ass penalties. Poor special team play. Inadequate coaching at key moments in the game. An offensive line that gave up sack after sack and can't run block to get one yard on two attempts at a decisive moment of the game. And, to top it off, you can't have a QB be that effing stupid just a few yards from the endzone on back to back drives.

Yes, I saw some resiliency by our D out there, saw some breakout play by a few players, and we moved the ball downfield against a weak Rams secondary. But for whatever good I saw it was more than negated by the bad. Hell, the Rams didn't even have their top receiver for much of the game when it was on the line.

Of course we have that gut reaction after watching our team lose. I get that. I also sometimes wonder if the outcome colors our perception of what was right in front of us.

We were two, admittedly boneheaded, mistakes away from blowing these guys away, and we were one missed XP from winning it in regulation, despite all the gaffes.

The Rams took advantage of every opportunity they were given. That was the max that they were capable of doing against us yesterday. We had multiple opportunities to win this one, and even blow these guys out. We failed to capitalize. Sometimes you do have days like that. We were the better team. As much as I hated the Carroll way of saying we were so close, we just need to work on a few things, that's exactly how I feel. We gave this game away.

If bad Geno doesn't show up in the red zone, then we can take seven off of their score, and add 10 to 14 to ours. That's a 30-10 or 34-10 type beat down. There were other missed opportunities for us, but there really weren't many that the Rams missed.

Certainly, there is an argument that good teams don't let opportunity slip from their fingers, and that would be the argument for the Rams being the better team.

The coaches put us into a place to win this handily. The player(s) just didn't execute. I think this is fixable, unless Geno is just washed. That's totally a possibility.

I just came away with the feeling that we are a lot closer than people seem to think. Definitely need to work on our offensive line, and we are in the mix. Hopefully they can shore that up over the bye.
The whole thing is just a roller coaster. One week Geno sucks, one week Geno Rocks! One week DK Rocks, one week DK sucks!. There's no mission. There's no consistency.

There's one person that is responsible for this this season, and I'm not a hater, just having been a boss, the buck stops here:

MM.

We're at 5 out of 6. Just saying. Said it two weeks ago, and I'll ******* say it again. This is all feeling very Mora-Esque to me. It's like deja vu all over again.

Im optimistic because at least most fans now finally see that this team is not actually built to contend.

Top 5 Draft Pick!!!!!

If we are being optimistic, I am hoping for this!

Originally, I had this Seattle team at 12-5.

So, I had high hopes for this team…..

But, since winning is NOT happening this year…..

I’ll take a Top 5 Draft Pick!!!!!!!
I had high hopes too, we were on the edge of being good last year and I thought this new coach was going to put us over the top. Even Pete was mad about leaving cause he said he had a plan on how to fix this. Now we are talking about burn it down and new coaches need a few years to get their own guys, what happened!! But hey we could still go 12-5….

It's not out of the conversation that we could go 6-11 this year, going 2-6 the rest of the way. We're 1-5 in our last six games, and have lost an almost unthinkable four in a row at home. While we're going backwards, both the Cards and the Rams have won three in a row and are trending upward. It's not quite pack it in yet, but getting close to it.
