Top 5 team in the NFL, period. And still, plenty of room to get better. And no, the Niners are NOT better than the Seahawks. And the Rams are not some unbeatable force.

Niners have the EASIEST schedule in the NFL. Something that seems to get glossed over. Well, people are noticing something real obvious: The Seahawks are a damn good football team.

I can't help but to be cautious (it's my nature), but they really are playing well right now. Will have to wait and see how they do against the Rams.
No, we don't have to wait. They are absolutely as good as The Rams. I swear, some of you act like these guys are the best team in football.
Do you, but my god, what's with the fear of the Rams?

After Jones went out we were playing without both our defensive quarterbacks. It appears that is how we will proceed during the stretch of the regular season. If we can somehow make it through that we should hit the homestretch at full strength. Ideal setup? Not if we get blasted during these next upcoming games. This game vs the Commanders was over at halftime and wasn't as close as the 31-7 score made it look.
Watch the Rams highlights from yesterday and then tell me how we are going to kick their ass. I'm ready to believe but I'm not sure I'm ready to be ready.

The way our backups are playing is impressive. Coach Mike is a hell of a football coach. Future is bright.

Not trying to argue, I just don't get why people think the Rams are some unstoppable team. They're good, but so are the Hawks.
They beat the SAINTS. Everyone beats the Saints. Hawks destroyed them too.
Watch the Hawks highlights from last night and tell me how the Rams are gonna' kick our ass?

:)

You sure are argumentative for a guy who isn't trying to be. LOL

I'll allow that we're a damn good team, to be sure. However, I won't be throwing that particular accolade around until we solidify the running game. The rosy glow of a dominating win back east can cloud one's reasoning. Wine, too. ;)

But it does feel good to be 6-2 to face the other thing I worry about a bit, home field. We're only playing .500 ball there lately and we HAVE to fix that, too, before I label us "best."

So the short answer is no, no "better" team out there.

However, there are a handful of teams that are as good. We'll get to face one of those in two weeks with the Rams. We beat them (and move into 1st in the division in the process) and then I'm going from an emotional WOW, THE SEAHAWKS ARE GOOD! to a more logical WOW, IF WE DON'T MAKE THE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP AT A MINIMUM I'LL BE SURPRISED.

Yes, I would be yelling in both instances.

From a logical point of view, however, we've demolished a team with very few offensive weapons this week, and beat two similar teams the previous two weeks prior to that. Credit to the defense of course, but these might be some of the worst offensive line/weapon starved teams in the NFL currently in the Jags/Texans/Commanders. Teams that have offensive firepower are still a threat to this team and have just a good of a chance of beating the Seahawks in a shootout, similar to the Tampa game.

However, there is no reason to not be excited. Feels like 2012-2013 all over again, which is a really good thing.

And it's been quite a long time since we've been able to be this early in a season where we expect to win every game left on the schedule.

THAT is the best feeling to have as a fan and I'm happy it's back.

One thing I will say is teams that play us take a beating win or lose. I don’t wish injuries on anyone, ever. That being said this team has now developed an identity…hit hard, hit legal, and take no plays off in all 3 phases of the game. QBs are getting pressured and hit 10-15 times minimum every game, our special teams are like heat seeking missiles, and even though our running game needs work…we’ve stuck to it and don’t abandon it, which increases the intimidation factor immensely.

Reminds me of the LOB…as one Marshawn Lynch once so eloquently said, “we have some dawgs on this team!”

Best team? No. But top 5? Hell yes.
You make a really good point, Fortworth. This team gives me a confidence I haven't had in a while. I legit expect them to win every time they take the field. Been a LONG time since I honestly felt that way. Hard to explain, they just are a really sound football team.

I don't know if we're better than the rams. They're the number 3 scoring defense, we're number 7. Not sure how you say our D is better. (maybe you could, comparing opponents. I'm too lazy to do that.) Stafford is having a lights out year. Should be a great game in two weeks, for sure. It'll be a true measure of where we stand.

Stats aside (which never tell the full story), would you really tell me the Rams defense looks as stifling and filthy as the Seahawks D right now? I sure wouldn’t.

I think the Seahawks are up there with the Lions, Eagles, Bucs and Rams. I see those as the top 5 teams in the NFC right now.

Trades and injuries will play a role in how it shakes out, but I see the Seahawks having more potential to improve as their rookies/first-time starters develop. There are so many new starters right now--Zabel, Sundell, Horton, Thomas, Emmanwori, Okada.

Also, we forget that Kubiak is new this year, and we may see even more improvement as the season goes on and Kubiak irons out some of the issues in the run game and the players get even more used to Kubiak's system.

It's fun to ride the roller coaster so far. However, being the better team is only a part of winning. Every week we see better teams lose because of coaching, injuries, weather...crazy ball bounces. The '25 Seahawks are a good team. In the end, their record will determine how good, not any other stat. Being a "good" team at this point only ensures that they'll have a chance on the followingSunday. That feels pretty good since it's felt like they haven't even had that chance at times over the past 10 years.
1/2 the season remains. We've all felt like Charlie Brown after Lucy yanks the kickoff. I'm going to try to enjoy the ride but limit the expectations... at least for a while.

The Rams are a good team, that we can all agree. But this weird notion that they have THIS team's number is akin to the abused dog who flinches when their abusive owner raises his arm.

No need to flinch. We are every bit as good of a team as the Rams if not better, and I think we ARE better.

The Lions are losing games they shouldn't be losing. The Eagles are completely beatable. The Bucs are good but injured and it's a one man show with Baker. The Rams are legit but not unbeatable by any stretch.

I think the narrative needs to switch. It's not that you think the Seahawks are up there with those teams. Those teams are hoping to be "up there" with the likes of the Seahawks right now.

No this isn’t blatant homerism.

This is a man who has watched the NFL for 50 of his 57 years. I am not an X’s and O’s dude by any stretch but my eyeballs are as keen and sharp as ever and right now please show me an NFL team more well-rounded, better coached, more dynamic and explosive on both sides of the football.

We are better than the Rams. Offense is similar. Our defense is better. Who else you got? Lions? Nope. Bucs? Even though we lost to them I say nope. Packers? Nope. Chiefs? Nope. Bills? Nope. Colts? Jones showed his true colors today, finally.

The list goes on and on. Yes I am feeling myself tonight and the Cabernet Sauvignon doesn’t hurt but in good conscience, right now, in this moment…

I can’t think of a single damn team in the NFL that is better than your beloved Seattle Seahawks right now.

Oh, the snf postgame announcers definitely were agreeing with you. It sounded like 2013. I expect an influx of new fans. Be nice, homers. You rode that bandwagon as hard as they did.

If you're talking about bandwagon, you're clearly talking about the "Faithful" in Santa Clara.
