The Rams definitely are a cause for concern.

I still think we’re the better team. But somehow, they have stayed competitive as hell under McVay.

Side note…JSNs number pale in comparison to what he’s capable of. That should be a very scary thought to our opponents. Example: that TD pass to White. JSN was open by a wide margin as well. He’s open nearly every damn play.

That’s not a knock to Sam. We don’t see what he sees. WRs realize that about their QBs as well (or at least, they should).

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 250 yard game turned in by JSN this season.

I was gonna say the Colts, Lions or Packers but after yesterday I think the Hawks are the dominant team not only in the conference but the entire league. Bills and Chiefs are decent but they don’t have our speed defensively. Offensively the Hawks are like basketball on grass and the greatest show on turf combined. Got to slow the roll a little there’s 9 games left.

It's not about fear, it's respect. They're a solid program. I haven't watched any of their games this year, so I can't speak to the "look and feel" of their defense. I can see statistically they're several notches above ours. Stafford has 21 TDs; even minus Puka he has that offense moving. We were tied with them last year, and they won the division going several steps into the tie breakers. Division games are always hard fought. Always.

I don't fear the Rams.....cuz I'm not getting tackled by any of them. :p I do see the game in two weeks as a fun measuring stick for the fans. I'm certainly not counting it as a win until they actually play. We tied the series with them last year, and I think our 2025 team is better than the 2024 one. I'm looking forward to seeing them play.

I was an absolute homer in betting the Hawks at 66/1 at the start of the year. I was even more of a homer rebetting them again at 28/1 3 days ago, but last night has been what I was expecting to see all year round. This team if they can stay healthy are as good as there is in football to my eyes. The Rams are the one team in the entire NFL that actually scare me and would have me worried in a playoff game.

Hope ya’ll took that over (7.5 wins which still tickles me to no end). Looking forward to my $1K soon.

Do you, but my god, what's with the fear of the Rams?

Take a breath and count to ten Soul. Nobody is afraid of the Rams. I'm just saying they are also playing well and have beaten us 3 out of the last 4 games. It's just a good measuring stick to see where the Seahawks are when playing good teams. Nothing more.

I don't watch enough of the NFL to know, honestly.

I thought the Eagles slipped and were 4-4 or something, but they're 6-2.

The Chiefs aren't what they were, but the NFL will fix that...

Bills look pretty good, not great

I am not sold on the Colts.

I haven't seen a lot of the LAmbs, but McVey is a great coach.

Seahawks seem like a team that can go 12-5 and maybe make the CCG. I don't know if it's a Superb Owl team.

Right now the litmus test tells me this IS a Super Bowl-caliber team. What’s left to doubt? A QB playing as good if not better than any other QB right now, a WR1 who is playing better than any other WR1 right now, a running game that isn’t statistically knocking you over BUT they just keep pounding that rock, a defense that is ELITE right now, shades of LOB, special teams is coming up big…

Seriously? What more do we need to have to be a true Super Bowl contender?

Let me answer that for you.

On that, we agree Aros. The Seahawks are absolutely a Super Bowl contender. Respecting other teams (who are also contenders) isn't disrespect for the Seahawks.

Come on man, the fear on this page is real. And it's been that way for years. That's all I'm saying.

No this isn’t blatant homerism.

This is a man who has watched the NFL for 50 of his 57 years. I am not an X’s and O’s dude by any stretch but my eyeballs are as keen and sharp as ever and right now please show me an NFL team more well-rounded, better coached, more dynamic and explosive on both sides of the football.

We are better than the Rams. Offense is similar. Our defense is better. Who else you got? Lions? Nope. Bucs? Even though we lost to them I say nope. Packers? Nope. Chiefs? Nope. Bills? Nope. Colts? Jones showed his true colors today, finally.

The list goes on and on. Yes I am feeling myself tonight and the Cabernet Sauvignon doesn’t hurt but in good conscience, right now, in this moment…

I can’t think of a single damn team in the NFL that is better than your beloved Seattle Seahawks right now.
To answer the question posed in the thread title, at this point, I'll have to default to the defending NFC champ Eagles. They have their warts this season and don't look nearly as strong as they did last year, but they are the defending champs. That's no disrespect to your opinion, just that I need to see a little more evidence before I get fully on the bandwagon.

The entire league seems topsy turvy right now, and it's hard to get a bearing on things and separate the contenders from the pretenders. If we beat the Cards next week and the Rams the following Thursday, I'll be on the bandwagon with both feet.

I feel better about this team than I have any of our squads since the 2014 season, the last time we went to the Super Bowl, so consider me an optimist.

I look at it in this way :

Sam is trying to get others involved in the passing game because you know opposing teams are going to start (if they haven't already) doubling or triple-teaming JSN so developing some chemistry with Horton/Arroyo/Barner (and even practice squad (ready squad) guys like Cody White) is very important.

I don't know if we're better than the rams. They're the number 3 scoring defense, we're number 7. Not sure how you say our D is better. (maybe you could, comparing opponents. I'm too lazy to do that.) Stafford is having a lights out year. Should be a great game in two weeks, for sure. It'll be a true measure of where we stand.
I'm not sold on the Rams.

The NFC is literally up for grabs.

Lions-scary offense
Bucs-Don’t bet against Baker
Rams-Stafford still doing what he always has
Packers-They always play us well but not too scared
Eagles-Taken a step back but they are the reigning champs

I think we match up against any of them but there’s a lot of ball between now and the playoffs.

We are at the eye of a perfect storm. We have a top qb. We have a top D. We have a top O. We have the best receiver. We’re the third youngest team! Youngest coach. It’s like 2005 and 2013 had a baby. And it’s grown up. Oh yeah, #1 DVOA.
But in answer I thought Rams. But last year we manhandled them up here but Geno did Geno. We’re so much better now. Are they?
