Want to expand on things instead of laughing, was anything I said out of line?

We haven’t played a single competent passer yet.

We took care of business and are clearly a better defense we also haven’t faced a true challenge yet.
It’s the NFL, it’s any given Sunday. So far I’m convinced a lot of you who are very much in the “I TOLD YOU SO” crowd would still not be convinced even if they were to go all the way to the playoffs. If they made it that far. If not it would be “ooh we were right!” Or if they made it and lost “oh we were right!” Hell they could go to the sb and someone of y’all would still beat the same damn drum.

And honestly the constant phucking “they have face a challenge yet” attitude around here is very much tiring to read. Jfc they’re as @keasley45 stated above

They are playing without:

Their best RT
Their 2nd best RT
A reliable Guard
Their best RB
Their best D lineman

They are dinged at LB

They are still learning to play together”

Yet somehow that’s not a challenge or still not good enough. Jfc lol Whatya want? Sam Howell as starter, and all starters out injured? Is that challenging enough? It’s the NFL, these dude didn’t get here based of looks.

One thing we might be overlooking. This defense will get better. The offense can be explosive. We hit Goff 12 times and the football will be all ova the place.

I mean no offense at all to the OP but I want to chew glass whenever I hear the words “are they for real?”

3-0 doesn’t happen because of rainbows and unicorns. It happens because you beat the opponent across from you. This goes for every team not just us.

Are we for real??

Of course we are.

Hey, we don't get to set up the schedule. All we can do is knock 'em down when they line up for us.

Like I said, I’m not bashing our play. We still are taking care of business.

That being said, it’s also true that this team hasn’t faced a real test yet.

The teams that we’ve faced have a combined 3-6 record at the moment. All of these teams are fielding some of the worst passers in the NFL.

My concern is that the Seahawks have had issues containing the running game. Seeing an offense face us that isn’t one dimensional is a scary proposition. In addition to that, the lack of offensive line is also a huge problem.

I think that the Lions game will tell us a lot about this years Seahawks. Let’s just say I’m cautiously optimistic but also aware that we haven’t had a real test yet.

So far we’ve passed the practice tests with flying colors though.

We made Miami look like a college team.. Teams usually do not make Tyreek look human.

It depends how you define "real". For me, the barometer is whether the team has a good chance of making a deep run in the playoffs to win it all. Seattle are not there....YET.

However, I remain optimistic (and this is perhaps the Fan homerism talking) but with Lucas back, and some improvement on the interior OL (from sieve to some form of serviceable blocking) that the team can contend. I think it is absolutely critical (like most squads) that the injury Gods are kind to us; especially on the defensive side. Murphy and Williams being out even against the Fins made me nervous about the run D in the middle. Very keen to see what the Defense looks like with Nwosu back, and hopefully a fully fit roster to playing aggressive, attacking D.

There is a lot of "weird" results at the moment, the League is settling and I'm not sure at the moment who I'd really have leading the way. My gut tells me it won't be the Vikings and Steelers when we are much deeper in the season! Perhaps Seattle will also fall away when the schedule gets tough, but hopefully they hang tough and can improve where they need to.

They've beaten who they should beat. Question is, can they beat the ones they shouldn't beat? It's still too early to tell who's who in the league. Detroit will be a test, but again, the football God's cursed them against Seattle. The Hawks seem to beat them no matter what, so there's that.

I get OPs meaning. Considering our opponents thus far…

We needed a few games like this to get our staff’s ‘feet wet’. Everything is new.

I think we are for real but we’re not without flaw. As mentioned, our O-line leaves a lot to be desired. The return of a couple of key personnel would certainly help.

I like our chances.

I definitely think Macdonald's "program" is for real. If Schneider keeps hitting in the first/second rounds to build out the core, we're in for some great years ahead.

Last year,
Like I said, I’m not bashing our play.

Last year, with an abysmal defense and without BOTH of our Tackles, we went into Detroit and beat the Lions.

That defense, which couldnt stop the run, get pressure or stop the pass, got 2 sacks on Goff.

Am i certain we will beat the Lions? No. But based on past performance and the improvement in specific areas of play, i think it will be a good game and one where we wont be embarrassed even if we lose.

So, that being the case, if we beat alk the teams we should, and are 55/45, 45/55 with teams like detroit who are a more difficult out, where does that put us?

If you play the MOST pessimistic card and say the only sure wins left on the schedule are against the bears and giants, that gives us 5.

That leaves 12 games against tougher opposition. Can we split against the Cards and Rams? I think so.

Thats 7 wins.

Can we best the likes of the vikes, packers, jets, Bills and Falcons? If we get 2 W's out of those 5, we are at 9 wins. (I think we can take 2 right now with the banged up, still gelling team as it stands.)

After that, a split with SF gives us 10.

Thats going 5 and 7 against stiffer competition to get to 10 wins and the playoffs.

Are our chances better than 42% odds to beat 'better' teams when we get Lucas and Walker back and shore up our O-line issues?

Are we better than 42% odds to beat better teams after 5 more weeks of growing together and getting settled on bith offense and defense?

I think the answer to both is yes. Its not as though those other teams are firing on all cylinders.
