Of course you don't think Darnold has been great.

After all, the only one who deserves to be great is Natethegreat. ;) ;) ;)
I mean, he has been decent. I thought his TD throw to JSN was good. I didn't blame him for week one as I had a problem with the play calling. Week two he had some good and some bad and week three he was efficient.

He had a great game against NO and two average games before. He's not top 5 in like anything. He's basically been as advertised in MIN which is a good thing.
And that's what we want from him.

The only QB I've seen that would be an upgrade would be Justin Herbert of the Chargers.
But Darnold is doing everything asked of him and just had poop for luck in week 1.
Also doing well that I've seen... Goff, Mayfield, Indiana Jones. Surprisingly, last weekend, Carson Wentz.
There are more that could be named, but I've only watched a few games.
Happy with what I'm seeing from Darnold this far and he's a good fit here.

The rest of the league isn’t exactly loaded with great QB play to this point so your take here isn’t very good.

We did about as good a job this draft as possible at all facets. Now this still pretty unknown behemoth can and is being formed to scare.
Shades of The Legion times indeed.

They're taking it one game at a time (and having some fun doing it).
Division first. They need to take the Cards out back.

Carson Wentz is cooked. He was the beneficiary of facing a just-as-cooked Bengals team that did not have their starting QB. Also he had the benefit of his team making a couple of big defensive plays that led directly to scores (by them, I think).

He is NOT going to be another reclamation project that "Sam Darnolds" his career. He's done.

One final blaze of glory for Wentz with the Vikes? Will it last longer than one game? Re-watched the Vikes-Bengals highlights and Wentz was decent but maybe I mentally mixed in some of Danny Dimes plays with Wentz. Looks like Wentz will start a couple more games while JJ McCarthy is out. Yeah, Darnold didn't get full credit for the Vikes 14-3 record last year, because of overall Vikings team strength and Justin Jefferson as a target. Wentz did have the benefit of a very strong run game and 2 defensive TDs, so I probably gave him slightly more credit than was due.

I’m happy for Sam. And of course by proxy, us. If Sam is having a great year, WE are having a great year. He’s a great guy, easy to root for. Early signs is he is the same QB he was with Minnesota last year.

The key is our OL. If they continue to improve, look out. Pass Pro has been good so far. Ironically the run production is a bit anemic but I have to believe that will improve as the season rolls on.

If we handle business as we should against the Cardinals and make it 3-1, man, we could be in for a fun season and Sam is spearheading this thing.

He looks exactly like Minnesota Sam. He's accurately zipping the ball to multiple receivers (and throwing deep) that were almost solely attributed to Justin Jefferson and Kevin O'Connell. Talent and coaching aside, Darnold still had to make the throws last year.

Sure, I’m a homer but I’m not an idiot. I think Lamar, Patrick, and Josh, and Joe are obviously head and shoulders better QB’s than Sam Darnold, but that’s not my question.

Right now, after three weeks of ball, who is undoubtably playing better than Darnold right now? I’m not being rhetorical, I’m asking becasuse I don’t study the game like many of you.

Herbert?
Allen?
Stafford?
Prescott?
Hurts?

It’s early, but I can’t think of a whole heck of a lot of guys who have been better over the first three games of the year. His decision making, accuracy, and ability to make big plays when needed have far exceeded my expectations. He’s had a couple spin moves to avoid pressure and connect on huge plays that blew me away. Yeah, he got blown up by a by a beast who will have a gold jacket someday to end week one, it happens, but that loss was more on play calling than Sam.

The fact that we have this guy on a team friendly deal for far less than many who are subjectively better than him does indeed point to JS knowing a think or two about QB’s.

That Bosa play does not happen at this point of his development with the new system. I can't wait for SF rematch.

He looks good! Should’ve passed before the field goal.

In a lofty place tanglin' with Satan over history.

I have a feeling those last 2 games with the Vikes are the best thing to happen to Sam.
