Yankees debut new style bats

Yankees debuted new bats that move majority of the bats mass to the tip of the bat, giving it a bowling pin style shape. The result? 3 homeruns hit on the first 3 pitches. The final score was 20 to 7 Yankees.

I saw the game on MLB.TV the starting pitcher for the Brewers was Nestor Cortes who was a starting pitcher for the Yankees in 2024.

The Yankees had hired an MIT scientist to come up with the design of the bat, each bat is specially made for each player that wants to use it based on studying what part of the bat the hitter makes the most contact and that part of the bat has the largest diameter

Aaron Judge is not using a torpedo bat not that he has to, he could probably hit a home run with a branch that has fallen out of a tree

I blame bad pitching and not the bat design for Cortes bad outing and the pitcher who followed Connor Thomas did equally as bad

MLB okayed these stupid bats that clearly have a bigger sweet spot ect.

As long as the bat doesn’t exceed 42 “ in length or 2.61” in diameter it is good there is no limits on weight but there is additional wording in the rule about not using “ experimental “ bats what that means I don’t know

Players have had customized bats for a very long time - wood type, weight and even some on how it's distributed.

This just cranks that up a bit more.

Other players/teams were using them last year. Stanton used one in the playoffs last year when he was launching everything, but it wasn't a conversation item because he has the ability to launch when he's actually playing

By all accounts the bats are legal. If they aren't snapping and becoming dangerous then go with it. If there becomes a noticeable increase in exit velocity for like players over s wide enough sample where it could put your more vulnerable IF positions as risk, then maybe it will need to be looked at.

I'm a marlins fan and the creator is a bench check for the marlins and they still stink
