I think Jeron Johnson is available. This late in the season, his familiarity with the teams defensive scheme should be taken into consideration.

Yeah, after McCray is Tyvis Powell the rookie.

I feel we need a veteran.
That's not really how the seahawks do it these days. It's all about the next man up.

The likes of Rawls and Sherman all got their chances as rookies due to injuries to key players.

Next man up.

McCray can play bother safety spots if needed, but doesn't have the range to keep us in cover 3. Neither does Powell, but he's probaby better the mccray in that area

I think we roll with what we have. 4.3 speed safeties aren't sitting around, and Terrell has that going for him.

He is indeed a free agent. He was the first name that came to my mind as well

just an idea, not saying I would approve. but what about bringing back Brandon Browner. He was here for training camp and I know they cut him but he does know the defense.

I would imagine Browner lacks the speed, and change of direction a free safety would need.

Maybe, I'd guess we're going to kick the tires on a couple guys this week.............but I wouldn't hold your breath.

At this time of the year with every team have serious injury problems, if there are players available, they're not very good.

Yeah Browner was more of a backup for Kam and the LBs in certain packages than he was ever a backup for Earl.

If they pick up anyone it would have to be Johnson. Knows the system.

They probably won't make a move but if Terrell goes out we are in deep doo-doo.

wouldn't we have to put Earl on IR to make room for Johnson? I think we need to wait to see if Earl can make it back for playoffs. They are stating 6 weeks. That puts it around Round 2 of the playoffs. As long as we get a first round bye he could be available for our first playoff game.

Wishful thinking but we are fighting for the #2 seed. Detroit is a threat.

Six weeks is the best case scenario without a true diagnosis. That's just the standard broken bone.

Is it is the tibia, you are looking at surgery and 6 months. Good news is no long term ramifications.

Not necessarily, just have to open up a roster spot.

So someone else can get cut over having to put Earl on the IR. My guess is Pete is going to wait to see just how bad the break/crack is, talk to the team Dr's and if there's even a small chance Earl could come back by the playoffs or SB, then he won't put Earl on the IR just yet.

Pete will keep Earl on the roster if there is even a chance that he can make it back.

The division is essentially wrapped up, and although we are fighting for the 2 seed, I can't see IR-ing him just for the sake of a regular season roster spot unless he is really hurt severely.

We just have to wait and see - I'm trying to tell myself he makes it back for 9 weeks time for SuperBowl Sunday but I have my doubts he can make it back so fast.

We do have a FS on the practice squad, Pierre Desir. I think I'd rather hear the news that Earl won't need surgery and could make it back for the playoffs, but it wouldn't surprise me if he had to go on IR, and if he does, I could easily see Pete giving one of our own PS guys the slot over bringing in someone off the street. Terrell is no Earl, but he's solid back there. Hopefully he avoids any collisions with Kam.
