Well, would you rather have a supporting role in a Speilburg film, or be the star in a low budget indie flick? We have the best facilities in the league and now also have one of the best (and youngest) teams in the league. Some of these teams looking for HC's are not exactly top shelf when it comes to team infrastructure (Cleveland? San Diego? Jacksonville?) and probably wouldn't be a great career move for the ol resume.

No i think our young oc and dc would be MUCH better served to see this thing that Pete is building through a few more years (and hopefully a few titles) so they can really command some big bucks from good organizations when they do move up to the big office.

I'm good with Cal Naughton Jr. too. Shake and bake.

Damn me, I didn't check page 2 before I posted the same thing. I'm sure much like me you are trying to figure out how to listen to the stereo while watching TV.

Not a good match. Love Smith is a Tampa 2 guy all the way, our personnel doesn't really fit. Also, I get the feeling Pete wants young blood on his defensive staff.

I believe I read somewhere that Norton Jr. doesn't want to be a DC.. that he loves being a LB coach..

Anyone else read that or did I dream it?

Pete Carroll is as much his own DC as Bradley is, so hiring someone like Lovie Smith and inviting a power struggle is not something I ever expect him to do on that side of the ball. If Bradley left, the only internal candidate I see right now is Todd Wash, who comes from the exact same background as Bradley and seems primed to be a DC very soon (likely would follow Bradley to be Gus' DC if he isn't promoted in Seattle). I don't believe Norton wants to be a DC (not now anyway), and Richard/Seto aren't ready yet. If Carroll goes outside the organization I could see Bears DB's coach Jon Hoke possibly being a candidate. Hoke served on the same staff with QC and asst. LB's coach Robert Saleh with the Texans previously. Inviting Dan Quinn back, as DC this time, wouldn't shock me either.

I would love it. Lovie isn't stupid, he would easily be able to adapt to PC's defensive scheme and would bring his own insights to the team. I think that we would truly be such a dominant defensive team with Lovie and Pete on the sidelines (more so than we are now).

Yeah Norv is a good OC, but I don't think he would help RW, after all they ran Drew Brees out of town there didn't they.
