Agreed.

I like what I've seen of Kubiak at times. I just think there are people out there that can do a good job.
Kubiak leaving isn't the problem.

Him taking Benton with him IS.

Grey Zabel has to be part of the turn around on the o line as well? Can coaching make that much of a difference? Pretty impressive turn around for sure

Coaching and play calling make a huge difference.

Reading that it may not be unreasonable to think Shaheed may follow him to the Raiders. They have both worked together before and know each other very well. I just hope this culture keeps him here.

Pete Carroll and Geno might have started a trend of Seahawks personnel diving into the misery of Las Vegas.

It all depends on what is more important for Shaheed.

His loyalty to Kubiak or having found success on a SuperBowl-WINNING team? (also the $$$ plays a part, too)

At this point, I'm leaning towards Jake Peetz as Kubiak's successor. That's the best option for retaining some continuity. Peetz has been an offensive coordinator before on the college level, at LSU. He was previously passing game coordinator for Sean McVay, so he's gotten some good experience. If we don't promote Peetz, he's probably gone to Las Vegas to be Kubiak's OC.

I don't know how long Benton is under contract for, but if he's got more than a one-year contract, he can't follow Kubiak unless Kubiak gives him a promotion, like offensive line coach/assistant head coach.

Something to keep an eye on: Jeff Stoutland, the Eagles offensive line coach for the last 12 years, has left the Eagles:

Not only has he coached those great Philadelphia O-lines, he is also the inventor of the tush push.

The article says he doesn't plan on coaching this year, but perhaps he can be persuaded if Benton leaves with Kubiak?

Some people (like me) think the Eagles are not using Jalen Hurt to his full potential. Supposedly Stoutland calls the plays.

Or maybe he could do with a more traditional Pocket-Passer (Darnold)?

So do you have to have exactly the personnel to fit his ideas, or can he work with whatever situation he's dealt? Given that, are we an exact match? I felt like Kubiak figured things out over the course of the season, learning to get the most out of Darnold, dealing with injuries, adding Rasheed, etc.

McDonald figured out what he did not like, after his first season, and got Kubiak. I think after this year, having success at OC, he'll be able to get another one who will be just what he envisions.

I've never heard that Stoutland (the O-line coach) called the plays. Kevin Patullo was the Eagles much-maligned OC this past year. He's been fired.

The scuttlebutt is that Stoutland is quitting because he felt that he was disrespected by Nick Sirianni who didn't take him seriously:

I'm not saying that Stoutland should be hired to be OC, just to replace Benton as the O-line coach if he leaves with Kubiak.

My bad - thought the Eagles OC had quit and I didn’t look up his name. Eagles OC calls the plays.
