I won’t say it out loud, yall know what I’m saying.

How will you respond, what do you think you will feel about the season, team, and future?

Will you call for heads?
Demand an upgrade in one specific position?

For me:
As the other thread talks about, my preseason expectations have been obliterated.
Hard to complain about anything.

But

Success has raised my expectations they have been elevated to match the current situation, and I’ll be extremely bummed (not unlike you)

However my overall feeling will be that we are a force and the NFL better take notice.
I won’t be mad, and I won’t be looking for anyone to be fired.

My hope will be that we make an upgrade or two, and that we find good replacements for any key players we lose.
I hope we do most of that via the draft, and any veteran additions continue to be as successful as the ones we’ve already been made.

Bottom line, I’ll be sad but certainly not mad.

Exactly. Sad, but not mad (unless it's due to some officiating bs).

Mac and JS are building something sustainable here. It's not a flash in the pan. The team is ahead of schedule and should be even better moving forward.

I was present that day in Glendale a few years back when things didn't end well. At first I felt like I'd been run over by a truck... but then I stood back up and brushed myself off and reminded myself of two important truths.

1) We are watching other people who get paid a lot of money to play a game.
2) Emotional investment is a choice, not a necessity.

Enjoy the good, but never let the bad abide -- otherwise how could there possibly be any Mariner fans left in the world?

It will depend on reason.
And I thought about that.

I had to look at the season as a whole body of work though, it’s been too good for me to freak over an isolated event/incident.

I won’t entertain that we might completely 💩 the bed with a single thing/person being the reason.

Regardless of how it happened, it would probably feel a little worse than the Mariners losing the 7th game to Toronto, but not as bad as the 'not running Marshawn' decision in the SuperBowl.

Yeah, it's going to depend on how it happens.

But the Hawks have a bright future ahead regardless.

Good point. The players were unimaginably more upset by that loss than any of their fans.

i will feel gutted. this team has far surpassed my expectations for the season but ive just grown to love them so much. the personalities of everyone is just so fun to follow, def a top 3 all time team for me. so if they dont finish after getting this close it will just feel like such a lost opportunity even though again they blew my expectations away.

Wow and look who decided to pop his head out of hiding all of a sudden, @SoulfishHawk ? It's biscuit. 😂

But seriously, to the OP : No offense but I hope we never come back to this thread again after Sunday.

I fully expect celebratory threads all over the place while this thread gets pushed 5 pages down into obscurity. 😤

GO HAWKS!!

Yea, I hope to never feel that pain again.

Probably a big part of why I’m going through this process of tempering my expectations now.

Look at my response to @Hawkstorian

This thread/conversation is about a personal process.
I get way too emotionally invested, I’m already a nervous wreck.
I’m actually trying to talk myself off of a ledge I shouldn’t even be on.

And I pray you are correct

This team already won one more Superbowl than I ever thought I'd see, so I'll be fine.

While I fully expect them to win. My thoughts take me back to 2012.

If something happens, they will come back stronger and hungrier with a chip on their shoulder and kick everyone ass next year.

Whether this year or not, this team is poised to win it all, and there is another championship or 2 in our very near future.

Orlando, FL...for good.
If we lose this weekend, anyone calling for any heads when we have a second-year head coach who just rebuilt the team and got them MASSIVELY better is a drooling moron, I don't care who you are. Fact. I'll say it to your face in real life if you're one of those, too; I don't care.

I agree but we ALWAYS have a couple.
