Incredibly, the talking heads are saying that Kubiak was in high demand, and "at the end had his pick of two jobs." You've got to be kidding me - had his pick of LV and Arizona? Damn, he must have been in high demand. Andy Reid, Jim Harbaugh, Sean Peyton. Checkmate.

He should have waited one more year. If Minnesota has another year without the playoffs, that job will be open. Tampa also if they don’t make the playoffs again. Two far better jobs.

Correct but how many examples can be shown of these coaches being poached and the teams and league are announcing it with the *pending contract agreement or whatever during the middle of thier SB weeks? Almost none. Speculation sure but almost every media source league including the NFL is saying “it’s a done deal just waiting for him to sign.” “kint Kubiak the next Raiders head coach”

Or how about when we were getting Macdonald, DURING the ravens playoffs Mike wasn’t flying to Seattle for diner and interviews. Js was flying there. There’s been heavy rule bending in this stuff involving KK. You didn’t see headlines “Mike Macdonald the next Seahawks head coach!” It wasn’t announced and no headlines until AFTER the ravens were eliminated
I mean, there was a lot less time they had to wait for Mcdonald, so there is that lol.

Imagine being the Raiders, they have to wait until after the superbowl for a headcoach, and the rest of their staff essentially.

They end up getting the rest of what's left.

Plus because of the Raiders taking Geno off our hands, and Brady snubbing Darnold.... we're going to the superbowl.

It's the least we can do for them, even though Kubiak is gonna gut our coaching staff and probably snag Rasheed off of us lol

I understand taking the gig - but damn. The Raiders? I wish him the best in trying to rid that franchise of its loser stench.

Not optimistic for him however.

Trying to get the "Suck" out of the raiders is like trying to get cigarette stink out of an rental.
They're in an absolute amazing position regardless...

$100 millionish in cap
Like 10 draft picks
Fernando Mendoza
Ashton Jeanty
Brock Bowers
Maxx crosby
A new stadium
A fatass contract for Kubiak with no state income tax
The literal Goat of football teaching the franchise how it is to win, and then coaching the rookie QB up

**** the Raiders, but holy shit, they have an absolute dream setup

Hope that part doesn't happen.

It happens. Maybe it was wishful thinking. I'm not too worried about it. The raiders are a shit show and of course they'd wait until February to hire a coach. They'll be a shit show 5 years from now

I think Kubiak has done a ton of great things this year, but he doesn't have a long and decorated career as an OC. And we really don't know what influence Macdonald had on the offense with respect to dialing it into his vision of it. I'm an offseason optimist, but I have confidence that Macdonald will assemble an offensive staff next year that will generate the 'good' offense he needs to complement his 'great' defense. In any event, win this weekend and next year is just the cherry on the top.

Go get Arthur Smith before he signs that Ohio State contract.

IMO would be a perfect hire for what we do good offensively.
Seems to be a lot of speculation on here, so here's my bit...

If Smith hasn't signed that Ohio contract, it could be because JS has already contacted him about a job.
Could be farfetched but who knows.

Here and there
I'm sure JS is reaching out to people in prep of Kubiak's departure including any possible coaches who may follow. I wonder what impact this will have on another Super Bowl run next season. I mean Kubiak gelled fairly well, had his ups/downs, but towards the end, did quite rather well...especially for 2nd half adjustments.

I guess some of the coaches he might take with him, would get better positions and money; otherwise, why leave Seattle, where they could move to better positions very quickly? I guess if they get more exposure with Kubiak, and they do well, even if the Raiders don't, they'll get HC jobs before they are ready?

Agreed.

I like what I've seen of Kubiak at times. I just think there are people out there that can do a good job.
