OK, he's older now, not with the Rams so your point is?...he's going to keep doing it?....Chances are small. He simply doesn't have the measurables for us to invest.

My point is he is a lot younger than I thought.

I would have guessed he's 33. He must have come in the league at 20 or 21.
.
I'm in my late 20s and there's certain players I'm shocked are either younger than me or around the same age. Also because I'd probably look 15 standing next to one of them lol.

would you still take a $12m Quinn over a $12m Clowney? Not that Clowney will accept a $12m contract, but would you still prefer Quinn over Clowney?

I'm with you guys. Sometimes all we need is a guy with a lunchpale rather then all the flash. Besides we have our pockets a little fuller. Cha-cing :snack:

Quinn over Clowney for ANY amount? No way, Clowney is one of the most disruptive players in the entire league.

Probably not, but there is some concern over long term effects of the micro fracture procedure done to his knee that I'd need more info on. As it sits I'd lean toward Clowney but not by much.

That said, Quinn has better sack numbers and far better on the field percentage as far as injury status goes.

Quinn has a neck condition that 2 teams have moved on from. He's an Avril hit away from possibly the same situation.

How many sacks do you guys think Clowney gets playing with Demarcus Lawrence? It would be his first time playing alongside elite talent in a 4-3.

Like Ngakoue, Quinn is a liability against the run.

How many did he get playing with JJ Watt and Whitney Mericlus? Sure he's great agaisnt the run, sure he's commands some double teams but at 20 million a year you better get after the quarterback.

If i remember right 1 if his 3 sack came in the first game if the year where Andy Dalton ran out of bounds for a lose of 1 and Clowney was the closest player around. I'm not sure what was different about the game in SF but If he could look like that 70% of the time i'll all in.

Also people need to quit saying how many sack would he get if he played with Demaracus Lawrence? How many sacks do you think he would get if he play with Aaron Donald? Clowney is going to be pay like Lawrence and Donald not the guy playing across from him.

He barely played with Watt and Mercilus in his current form, but when he did it was 9 sacks.

Someone mentioned they'd take Quinn over Clowney at the same price. The point was if they switched circumstances, it would likely only help Clowney. So that might bridge the gap more when it comes to sack totals.

Lawrence and Clark had 13 sacks combined last season. People need to quit saying 20 million is only Donald/Mack money when the cap is going up every year and 20m will be a bargain soon enough.

Von Miller still has plenty left in the tank, good call.

We could get him for a second rounder me thinks.

He's a $25.625 million cap hit this coming season.
That's true... but... if he is traded, Denver eats $11.75M in dead money and the team to which he is traded has Von under contract for the next two years at $18.0M per year... a VERY reasonable salary for a player with his production.

My point is if your gonna be paid like a top ten DE you need to either be a sack machine(15 plus) or be elite at the run and still get after the quarterback(8-10) i'm not saying that can't be Clowney so please don't mistake that. My concern is in a contract year it wasn't him. If he can play anything like he did at SF i'm paying him, he just didn't show that consistently. I also am not the one saying i would take Quinn over Clowney at the same price, i am saying i'll take Quinn and Shaq Lawson at the same price though.

When your the only guy on a line that a team fears they focus on negating you figuring the rest can be handled, Clowney was the target of every scheme from the OC on the other team to stop, with 2 other guys that can consistently do damage it would open up everyone's game. Clowney would shine a lot more with help to pull O lineman and blockers away from him.
