I'm thinking it's probably a bit of both. I think they come into some matchups wanting to really hammer DK and get him going early, especially after Dallas last year.QB tendency. Happened a lot under Waldron as well.

He's behind a garbage oline that can't get any push while watching his defense get completely destroyed off the line and fooled constantly while expected to carry the team on his back every game. Their best pass pro was still trashWhy did he play his worst game with the best pass protection he's been given all year if the O-Line is the problem?
My big issue with Geno is he’s really been trying to force the ball to DK, coverage be damned.
He also seems to pull a disappearing act midway through the season. It’s been a trend throughout his career as a hawk.
His Red zone numbers are also haven’t been great.
Geno isn’t as bad as some make him out to be, but he certainly has his flaws. Any talk about MVP was absurd homerism around here.
Likewise he’s not a terrible QB either.
We won't win one as long as we're unable to run the ball, win in the trenches on offense, or stop opposing offenses either. That's the thing.Clearly we will never win a Super Bowl with Geno at the helm.
I didn’t blame the loss on Geno, that being said he was apart of the problem. The defense sucked and Geno too had a bad game.I know the general feeling is to throw Geno under the bus for this one, but he's not the reason that the Seahawks lost. The Seahawks lost because they allowed the 49ers to march up and down the field and score points at a frightening pace.
What else is Geno going to do? Hand the ball off to Walker? And pray for a miracle? Geno is the reason why the Seahawks were in this game. He is not the reason why the team lost. Did he make a few mistakes? Yes. So did Purdy. No QB is perfect. But Purdy had his way with the Seattle defense through most of this game. When the Seahawks finally did shut down the 49ers passing game, they allowed a rookie back to bust off a big one. That is Geno's fault? I don't think so.
Anytime your defense gives up more than 20-points in any given game, the chances of winning said game are not good. Yet, Seattle came really close. This was not a blowout.

I’m more talking about overarching trends surrounding Geno Smith.
On point 2, yeah, this is absolutely more on DKIt's actually pretty simple why Geno sucked tonight:
1) Geno was injured in a way that affected his throwing motion, an injury that was either concealed or that occurred in-game. Someone noted in another thread, that Howell was staying warmed up nearly the entire game, and Geno preferred throwing to one side. I apologize if any of this is incorrect; repeating what I read, which sounded plausible.
2) The announcers thought that DK ran his route wrong on that last pick, and didn't help his QB.
Still, Geno wasn't the reason we lost this game. Just like he wasn't the reason we lost the Giants game.
I agree here…but not because of Geno.Clearly we will never win a Super Bowl with Geno at the helm.

I don't think the timing was the issue, I think the route itself was the issue. Drifting on a crosser is bad news and will lead to a pick like this. Genos already throwing the ball when DK drifts deep and loses inside leverage on the DB rather than flattening. The route timing wasn’t the issue.
This is poor execution on Geno’s end.
If the splits were “off” I’d wonder…but they’re not.
Great question! For the most part Bosa and company were seen on milk cartonsWhy did he play his worst game with the best pass protection he's been given all year if the O-Line is the problem?
Yeah, unless the ball is underthrown, it shouldn't have been a pick. DK dropping deeper means the CB can jump the route when he wasn't exactly on top of him.I don't think the timing was the issue, I think the route itself was the issue. This was absolutely not a good game for Geno but given the full picture on this INT alone, I can't pin that all on him.
Clearly we will never win a Super Bowl with Geno at the helm.
