Sweezy had yet another horrible day, he had a horrible day against the rams, then against Washington then against Atlanta. All 3 of those games have something in common also, as soon as Moffit came in the offense started rolling on all cylinders. As soon as sweezy got benched you saw Russell running for his life much less. That sack he took as soon as the ball was snapped before the end of the 1st half was a point killer.

i've looked at Moffit play when he is in and he does a great job, he hooks the defensive linemen really good and opens up big holes for Lynch.

I have no idea what Cable has been thinking these first halfs to have Sweezy start.

Sweezy had a impressive game against the 49ers but other than that his pass blocking is horrible.

Moffitt seems very good at run blocking. Pass blocking not so much.

Carpenter, if he can get himself right this offseason, is the answer at guard above both Moffitt and Sweezy.

I'm sold on Moffitt. He seems to be the Hawks rabbit foot. Whenever he's in the game, the offense just plays extremely well. Plus, he's an excellent person. So I'm rooting for the guy to be a starter here for a long time.

Lineup I want to see for many many years... Okung, Carpenter, Unger, Moffitt, Breno..

They aren't sexy on the right side.. But I like their attitude.

I like Moffitt, and Sweezy caused us to lose that critical down before the first half. He can grow, but damn that was a killer.

I think just as they've done with Tate in the past, the coaching staff is using playing time to motivate Moffit. I don't think we'll ever REALLY know what it is, but my guess would be his practice habits, offseason regimen, how he handled his injury, etc. Something along those lines.

One thing I noticed about Moffitt yesterday, after breaking the huddle, he always hung back talking to Wilson. It looked like he was asking for the play again, but he did it nearly every time. Any idea what that was about?

I think he has a future as a backup. Sweezy too.

I'd like to see a line of Okung - Carpenter - Unger - McQuistan - Breno next year

McQ deserves to start. He is steady and reliable. He seems like one of those glue guys who is not flashy but raises the level of play of other. I want to see him at RG going forward if Carp is at LG.

It depends on how bad he wants it. He seems a bit of a clown on the Mike Robb report. He looks soft and happily says he stays away from the gym. That does not show dedication IMO to be the best he can be next year. He needs a hardass to train him...what's that Gunney from Full Metal Jacket doing I wonder? ;)

Jesus, he's only kidding around when he says those things. He even said it on the last RRR. Don't take everything that comes out of his mouth so seriously, that's simply his personality.

I think he was the guy supplying the Adderall. He was suspended for it while on IR last season. He's had a script for it since he was young and is now allowed to use it for his ADHD, but he had not declared it, hence the suspension. If I were a betting man I would say that Moffitt was the guy supplying it and Pete is big on that "protect the team" mantra he preaches. If anything would get a guy of Moffitt's talent level squarely in Pete's doghouse, it would be that.

Wow... I don't know what is up with the drag Moffitt through the dirt theme that is running through a couple of threads but this one is the biggest reach I've seen. We're getting into some serious accusations based on the very lightest of circumstantial evidence.

Further, there was never actually any 100% confirmation that the substance that turned up in the DB samples was Adderall. It just sort of stuck after a few people started saying it. Let not jump to MOFFITT DOESN'T WORK MOFFIT SELLS DRUGS HE IS A THREAT TO THE TEAM off of a few tweets, pictures, and blurbs on the RRR.

So Moffitt is a drug dealer. Well, I guess he will be the lightening rod guy for .NET in the off-season... Yay!

I totally think Moffitt is just funny and having fun. Mike Rob likes him and other guys seem to as well.

I think you can see an intensity in Sweezy that fits the "Always Compete mantra." Pete used the season to shuttle him in and out giving him different levels of responsibilities in game to fill out his portfolio of experience. Pete isn't just building for the now, but for the long haul.

For example, you take a guy on the oline that is inexperienced and say, go out there for this drive and give it all you got because we are going to send in someone else when you get tired. I can play at my highest level. I know if I mess up to bad that a reliever can come in and I can look at some films and talk with my position coach.

Anyway, I think that is what they are doing with Moffitt and Sweezy. You have to get Sweezy game time. He has a ridiculous upside (that may include future dominant RT). If you don't develop him, you lose out on that potential.

Woah there, Trigger, I said "I think" not "I know".

Why would an NFL player of any salary level need to SELL Adderall to his teammates? Giving it away seems to be more likely.

Think about it, though. What did Moffitt do to earn himself the ire of the coaches such that they choose to start a college defensive tackle at offensive guard? Upside or not, Sweezy wasn't exactly setting the world on fire with his pass blocking abilities this season, and I really doubt that game experience was the modus for starting him against a team in the playoffs.

It seems Moffitt's done something to lose the respect of the coaches and I just don't see his goofy demeanor being a detriment because Pete's all about that sort of thing. Moffitt's done his job better than Sweezy pretty much all season long, so why start Sweezy over Moffitt instead of letting him develop for a season on the inactive list? It doesn't really add up.

Mcquistan is solid, he is kind of like Chris Gray. Gets beat for a sack every now and then but steady and reliable.
