First consider this is a run first and often team.

Second, consider starting right and left tackles are out, as well as starting center.

People are blaming Rice for non production the last 2 games however, RW has been running for his life back there, and Sid has not been in his vicinity. So what, nobody else has either, and when they are RW has been overthrowing them.

He has also been double teamed repeatedly.

Cut Rice some slack, dude is a baller.

That is all.

Yeah I'm sure the Cowboys would race to the phone for that offer.

those are the cap numbers if rice is on the roster the next two seasons.

is his production worth 10m dollars of cap space when we need to re-sign guys?

The problem isn't that he's 'terrible', the problem is that he's paid like a #1 receiver but he's not a #1 receiver.

Sidenote - I also believe Rice's knee is in much worse shape than we all realize. He is getting absolutely no separation on any of these routes. I mean GREG TOLER was sticking to him.

I think Rice is gutting it out right now because Harvin's down.

if his knee was a problem we wouldn't be down to 4 receivers on the roster.

What difference does separation mean when the QB is on the move. The route is DONE at that point.

The problem is OFFENSIVE LINE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3 backups, 1 is a rookie 7th rounder, one is a utility player not great at anything being asked to man the hardest position on the line. And center?....Maybe a tie for most important position.

While I agree Rice deserves slack, he's not being double covered - I'm not even sure what this means (safety help?).

There are only a few WR/TE who receive exclusive Safety attention and require gameplanning. Sidney Rice is definitely not one of those players. That's not saying he's bad, but he's not some elite talent that opposing teams lose sleep over.

Our QB has to step up his passing game. He will.
Talk of "cut Rice" or Rice sucks is garbage. That is all.

This...how do you expect him to spread the ball around when hes running for his life? He's flushed out of the pocket almost immediately

So do we hereby declare Rice as the new .NET whipping boy?

People had better be hoping the Line can pull it together somehow. RW is taking a LOT of hits, it is affecting his accuracy, and to blame that on WR is short sighted.

Whip him if you need to, but supporting and seeing the whole picture is wise.

There were TWO passes that were perfectly thrown to Rice, and he just nestled down and waited for them KNOWING full well, that there's a Defender that is going to do everything they can, to either bat the ball away, or intercept.
A receiver of his caliber has to understand that the O-Line is indeed a leaking sieve, and that HIS Quarterback is going to be under extreme pressure to just get the ball out of his hand, and on it's way to YOU.
Not coming back to the ball is inexcusable, ESPECIALLY when it happens two Weeks in a row.
Rice is being paid huge bucks to be money on crucial plays, and hell, Luck had two guys that were doing what Rice should be doing, and that is, catching the tough passes, and taking some of the heat off of their Quarterback.
I don't know if Rice is 100% healthy, because he's not playing like he is.

I think we stick it out with Rice, when Harvin gets back he is going to demand more double coverage than Rice so his catches should go up and raise his value then we trade him after the season.

Yes, and therefore, EVERY pass that is perfectly catchable, should be caught ,and not intercepted because you don't fight for the pass that was meant to be yours.
Crucial mistakes that shouldn't happen.
