His original timeline was 3-4 months for a surgery he had on August 1st. His last X-ray showed that his hip was 100% from a structural standpoint. His issue is soreness and recovery, and I think that's a permanent issue for him going back to his rookie season.

That's 3-4 months to heal from surgery, but that doesn't mean he's going to be 100% ESPECIALLY for playing an NFL football game. There is a time frame after recovery from surgery to get up to NFL conditioning levels. This is something that takes time. You still just can't compare a major surgery recovery to a broken leg recovery, there's just such a huge difference in the recovery process

Fair enough, but my opinion is that if he's cleared to play, then he's cleared to play. Like someone just said, he can re-aggravate the injury throwing a downfield block just as easily as he can taking a special teams tackle. Pete brought him in here largely based on what he does as a returner. He cut Leon that same day and talked about it extensively at Harvin's first press conference.

I just don't see the rationale in limiting him at the one thing where rust and inexperience won't be a factor at all.

Shouldn't we wait till Friday to have this discussion. If Percy is able to get through the week, then allow him to return kicks only if it is a close ball game, if he can only hand 1 or 2 practices, limit him to wide receiver. If he is able to play against the Niners or Panthers, then all hands on deck. Not time to worry about injuries at all. Play him till he dies!!!.

BTW~ anybody know the Seahawks practice schedule this week?
