Vote NO in this poll.

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/e ... Q.facebook

Pete Von Reichbauer, who is trying as hard as anyone to kill this deal, tried to railroad the arena plan by suggesting it go up for a public vote. This is 100% an obstruction tactic. Very weak. The biased Seattle Times editorial group wants more than anything to get support for this idea. Tell them you disagree.

If you listened to Pete Von Reichbauer yesterday, you realize he is clearly public enemy #1 against this deal. Simply ridiculous. He was a condescending, smug prick every step of the way.

Today's meeting with the city council went MUCH better. Richard Conlin seems pretty much against, albeit a bit slicker than PVR. But the rest seemed ok. A few with some hard concerned questions. But the overall vibe was good. Chris Hansen handled the questions like a pro. Not to mention the public commenting portion was nearly unanimous in support and love for the Supes. One upset librarian lady aside. It was great.

The thought of this going to a public vote and failing because the uninformed masses makes me incredibly angry. If this does not pass because of a public vote on which only Seattle residents take part, I will be so disheartened about this city. It would be ridiculous.

I have no confidence in Seattle on matters such as this. Most have already talked themselves into believing how much "they" would have to pay for a new arena.

No kidding! What's wrong with these chuckleheads? Half a dozen negative Nancy librarians with a stick up their ass, a few hundred sheep, and thousands of pissed off Sonics fans, confused at such a dumbass reaction.

Hey numbnuts! Don't be that kid on the bus who has to pee two minutes after pulling out from the rest stop.

With an overwhelming 90% in favor of approval for the arena in the Seattle Times poll, I think any stupid time and money-wasting vote would be, well, an immense waste of time and money! God some of these city council members are so freakin' stupid and clueless... I mean why did we elect these idiots? Obviously Pete Von Reichbauer is in bed with somebody involved with the Port of Seattle, one of the most corrupt agencies ever! And then you have the just plain ignorant one's that say "What's wrong with Key Arena?". :34853_doh: :229031_banghead: Then of course you just have the plain anti-sports anything morons that think it's their civic duty to say "no" to anything sports, but will say "Hell yes!" to a new concert hall, or some frickin' stupid "Glass museum" at the Seattle Center. Fortunately, these dimwits are outnumbered by the people with a modecum of logical thought that realize just how sweet this deal is for the city, and as a new source of taxes. They stand to make millions off this deal, but still they do their best to derail it, and instill their personal tastes over the will of the public. No matter how it all turns out (and I'm pretty sure this is all gonna turn out just fine), we need to put these idiot quasi-politicians pictures on billboards saying "Tried to kill the Sonics deal!", and vote the bums out!

Well this should clear up anything any naysayers have to say about this proposal.

That was an excellent read, very informative. I sent the link to the Seattle Times because they don't have a story up and they've been pretty hesitant to support the idea. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt here since this was probably posted this afternoon.

Thanks for sharing, I can't stand the thought of this failing because of misinformation.

Agenda anyone?

HUGE agenda, it really is quite sad how biased, in terms of negativity towards the arena deal, they have been so far.

I'm beginning to think Chris Hansen descended from Heaven. Dear God, as more details have come out and to my attention I'm not sure there have been too many better arena deals in Sports.

My only fear is that Seattle politicians will make him bitter and he'll say "to hell with you all". Not that he's anywhere near that point, but I swear you could hand these people a bag full of $100 bills and they'd complain that the bag wasn't made of recycled hemp.

Very well said and agree 100%. I mean their are not many faults with this proposal and all these politicians are doing now is nitpicking. If they don't pass this I have lost all faith in Washington politics.

The biggest reason the Seattle Politicians want a public vote is to not get any stinkfinger on themselves before elections. Being able to say the people said versus we voted yea/nea keeps them from being accountable and they can them point fingers everywhere else.

I was afraid they would turn this into a political agenda and they are doing their best to make it one. Groups throwing up uneducated claims and reasons as to why not to have it coming out of the walls.

Maybe we should just build another library that costs up the ass and is shut down routinely, or bike paths that a small percentage use. between the two of them I beleive Seattle spent 500 million.

It was only PVR that wanted a public vote, Licatta inquired about it but he pretty much agreed with the notion that I-91 spoke for the people, and there is no reason at all for a vote.

PVR is right now the enemy of the arena, and no one knows why everyone assumes he's in bed with the Mariners or the port, or both.

I am not worried about the politicians this time. Hanson is 3-5 steps ahead of these fools, and will make them look like the political ass clowns they are in his special way without making himself look like a richard cranium. If there were a sportsbook in Vegas that took bets on who will win this I'd bet the house, car and anything else I had on Chris Hanson.

Yup. From what I gathered in the council meetings was that aside from PVR (who comes off as a serious ass with an Agenda) and someone else who's name escapes me, everyone sounded like they were either doing their due diligence on this or were legitimately curious as to the details.
