Are the Seahawks being targeted for player "issues"?

I'm not being paranoid here. Seriously, it's quite coincidental that we are at the top, and suddenly we are being tagged with player misconduct.

WTF?!!

The NFL doesn't like the 'SEATTLE' seahawks.... If this team were the "Los Angeles" Seahawks and still 10-1, I don't think we would even be dealing with this stuff..... call me crazy!

i doubt the rest is being treated equally, how many teams do you know when a player is suspended or whatever the NFL.com goes outta thier way to make a huge "developing story" tag at the top, like CNN... idk i hate NFL.com and all their biased crap.

If Browner cant play the rest of the year because of MJ.... but Aldon smith can play out his year after possibly killing people on the road and being a blatant retard with his firearm antics... then what else is one suppose to think.

I don't think so. I just think it is their turn and some of the young guys obliged, becoming a target.

There are players getting suspended and busted for "Substance Abuse" at various times throughout the year and I would imagine that once triggered, a certain level of focus is applied to that player in the future. Browner got hit pretty hard, so he must have angered the system somehow.

How did he get a YEAR? This isn't baseball? :)

Getting drunk driving irresponsibly, using misconduct of a weapon that can kill people.... x10 times worse than taking a bong hit. The NFL doesnt seem much different than our federal government ;) haha

Well the problem here is.. we dont know he got a year... In fact the ONLY site that has anything related to Browner is ESPN.. same article since yesterday.. and EVERY news outlet that reports this story ONLY refers to Adam Schefters report. Where is everyone getting all this juicey random tidbits they throw into the story, t hough ive seen NOTHING develop yet, and Im 3 hours ahead of you west coasters.

If they're not they should be with all the BS going on in this locker room. Very simple, stay clean and you have nothing to worry about. 7 cases in two years, i'd say that's a reason for the league to keep a closer eye on this team...

good points.. especially the "developing story" one.

Aldon isn't done yet, his day is coming.... he didn't fail test and hasn't finished court yet. He will though.

It wasn't too long ago that Saints fans expressed the same type of conspiracy theory suspicions. They were scheduled to host the Super Bowl when the Bounty Gate scandal broke, and they swore that Goodell didn't want to see a host city with a team in the SB.

Until they come up with some sort of evidence other than a circumstantial coincidence, I'm not joining the grassy knoll bunch.

I think he needs to be convicted before he gets suspended, BB tested positive so that is why he is done in the league.

Of course they are! And likely more so now that we have had so many failures. Clean it up or move along.

Ohh come the hell on. Our players need to stop being selfish and breaking rules, instead of placing blame on the league.

We are the poster team for drug violations. Our team breaks the rules more then any on drug related issues.

It's absolutely nothing to be proud of.

If the players weren't doing anything, there wouldn't be anything for those targets to find.

Enough with the persecution complex. It's not as if the league just stopped testing all other teams and only tests the Seahawks. Thurmond and Browner earned their suspensions. Time for Maxwell and Lane to step up - again.

As for people questioning the length of Browner's pending suspension, the reports are that he's already appealed and the appeal failed. He's getting a year because this is reportedly his third violation (that's the progression: 1st = no punishment, 2nd = 4 games, 3rd = year). Now, I had never heard about the 2nd that results in a 4-game suspension for substance abuse, so I don't know if that's something that happened back when he was a member of the Broncos or what.

Even if they were, kinda hard to argue with testing positive. If anything, positive tests would just reinforce the justification of them targeting.

Thats if he's found guilty!! The problem with Browner is that he's a repeat offender. He was suspended last year for 4 games for substance abuse.

I thought Browner was suspended last year for PEDs (Adderal) which is a completely different program.
