NOTE: Sports journalism is in such a sorry state IMHO. Even though Corbin Smith has made an acknowledged mistake or two along the way (who hasn't), he is the only one out there that has made any attempt to cover and write about all 90 roster spots. So I'm gonna acknowledge his contributions over other so called sports journalist when ever convenient.

Thanks Jville!!!

The others have caught up and have posted this Kidsy roster move on Twitter or by post; but I hear you, and have been of a similar view regarding the local media for quite some while.

As Hawkstorian observed earlier there will be 4 more cuts besides Kidsy required on August 17th after the 1st preseason game, cut to 85. Thereafter another 5 cuts on August 24 after the 2nd preseason game, cut to 80 with the final cuts to 53 happening on August 31. On September 1 the PS can be named. There is usually another busy period at that time as the FO combs through the cuts for players of interest to them.

Thanks Jville!!! Only noticed your more timely post after I posted.

The team has signed TE- Michael Jacobson, Iowa St. as the corresponding roster move to releasing WR- Darvin Kidsy.

Jacobson is 6'7" and 244. He played basketball in college and not football, apparently last playing football in high school.

Thanks Jville!!!

This is a disappointing circumstance as I had high hopes this player could be special in the team's D.

Was waiting until it was official to update.

Bryan Mills received a $20,000 signing bonus as an UDFA (tied for 2nd most), so it's a little surprising he didn't at least make it through the rest of camp. The largest bonus paid for OL Jake Curhan ($27,500). Haven't heard much about him this camp.

Mills will count $13,334 in dead money in 2022. Our total 2022 dead money has skyrocketed to $17,335!

Thanks for noting dead cap figures.

In a year of reaching for talent, Bryan Mills was such a big reach in need of a lot of coaching. I suspect his signing signaled the perceived need for play makers as a heighten 2021 priority. I'd like to believe his release may now signal a growing confidence in their camp and preseason personnel.

I just don't see Jake Curhan making the regular roster. Although he is credited as a hard worker, he appears to need a lot of work. So, I would anticipate an additional $20,000 bump in the 2022 dead cap from that contract. He could become a practice squad member depending on how well he is responding to on going coaching.

Hawks waive 6 and sign one player

With NFL teams having to trim rosters to 85 players this week, the Seahawks waived six players on Monday while adding defensive end Alex Tchangam.
Waived were linebacker Nate Evans, tackle Lukayus McNeil, cornerback Jordan Miller, defensive tackle Walter Palmore, receiver Anthony Ratliff-Williams and running back Cameron Scarlett.

Palmore and Evans each played about half the snaps Saturday, so they can't say they didn't get a shot!
