That's for damn sure. I guess Wilson and Dipito find the flaming "W" too scary and lose on purpose to avoid having to see it. Or something.

The Mariners had one hit in the game. One.

The piggyback plan worked just fine. That loss is on the impotent lineup and their inability to hit.

Yeah. I never understood why people were saying we were better when only 1 hitter is known for actually hitting the ball consistently (Donovan) and he hasn't even done that. a team full of .200 hitters will ALWAYS be a recipe for disaster. Some extra long balls can mask that a little bit like it did last year but the law of averages shows that will come back to earth like it is this year.

Last year was the anomaly. Unpopular opinion but I'm good with a rebuild. trade Castillo, Gilbert, Arozarena and Raleigh. Might even throw Naylor in that category. We need hitters. Naylor is a hitter but he can get a good return plus he wouldn't be happy here if we rebuild. I'd prefer a team of .280+ hitters but very low power compared to sub .200 hitters with lots of power. A mix of both is ideal but this team only knows pitching. It is completely clueless on what a hitter looks like.

Just a feeling, but it seems like Dan Wilson is being hesitant about his decision making, then makes them one game too late.

Seems if he was going to experiment, he should do it in a game where we are hitting better and/or have a better lead. Too much pressure on Castillo to try him there with a 1 run lead and a rotation that can't hit on that day.

I know people won't agree but Wilson is actively hurting the team. I don't think managers move the needle a ton but he's definitely cost them at times. His feel of the, ingame decisions etc just don't make sense most of the time. Most of the issue is on the players for sure but they need a different manager in this world series window and they refuse to do it.

So we're not the only ones disgruntled by our team's lack of hitting. But, fascinating how it's gotten worse over the years with 2018 being when it really started becoming more common:

Listening to El Hombre on with Bob and Dave, (Mike Lefko in for Bob), and the Phillys sucked, but they fired their Manager and things have picked up.

El Hombre said that teams don't let a Pitcher work through a bad spot, "he throws 2 balls and he's out!"

Hour 4: El Hombre Michael Bradley on the 2026 NFL Schedule Tuesday, May 19, 2026 | 24:06

Dave and Lefko have their weekly conversation with El Hombre Michael Bradley to get his thoughts on the NFL schedule release and a couple of devastating losses in the MLB,

They discuss whether the Seahawks will have another joint practice, and they get you ready for the Mariners’ game against the White Sox.

Yes, I don't understand this, is it because people are trying for the
long ball? I remember when if you hit under .250 you usually were
at the bottom of the order or on the bench.
Good hitting is lost in todays era.
