MNF : Seahawks win 27-19 in a hard-fought win

The fumble was all Darnold - he had plenty of time to throw the ball away, trying to roll-out in the endzone on 3rd and 7 up 11 points with 7 minutes to go in the game?

You can throw the ball away there, you can take a safety and still be 2 scores ahead. He made 2 bad decisions on that play, and the O-line gave him plenty of time to get rid of it.

The Kupp interception? I actually like the playcall - Kupp isn't under pressure, JSN is wide open and it's an easy throw for a first down or at least 2nd and short. Obviously it's something they practiced during the week and I imagine Kupp nailed it then when they did. These things happen, and the more we continue to throw "gadget" and "trick" plays into our repertoire the more teams will have to respect the possibility we will do it (and have it actually come off!).

At the end of the day we put up 27 points on a team that hadn't allowed more than 20 points prior to today, and averaging 12.2PPG against before our game (despite having played some of the better offenses in the league - Rams, Bucs, Ravens). Winning in the NFL isn't easy, but it never looked like we would lose that game.

Going to call a spade a spade here.

Sam had 3 seconds PLUS there and for some reason decided not to throw the ball. It looked like Sam got more than enough time there.

Lots of blame to go around for that play but Sam was a big culprit of it.

I'd like to officially take back what I said that it wasn't Sam's fault.

sigh.....What in the hell, Sam?

If you feel there is no one open, throw the ball away.

For some reason, Sam panicked there as both edges were pushing both Lucas and Cross closer to Sam than he'd like.

Or, he could have just elected to step up through the gap in front of him to his left to avoid the safety instead of trying to spin out of the back of the endzone when both edges were already collapsing.

And, It was dumb to call a play that didn't have two immediate short options for him to hit, but he has gotta know that if the play isn't there, you have to abort quickly or scramble for what you can.

The very worst thing the Seahawks can do right now until their next game in two weeks is to pretend the game went pretty well overall and not bother addressing any of the issues and questionable play calling. LEARN and FIX. Mike Macdonald is going to tighten the screws, let's hope.

He needs to put a leash on Kubiak in terms of Trick plays.

Those types of plays should only be run to jumpstart an offense that isn't working because the QB is struggling.

Darnold despite his average outing, was not struggling.

And I'd like to know how Kubiak's mind works sometimes..

Like...he seems like one of the top brilliant minds as far as OC's go and other times he makes head-scratching decisions (some of which we saw tonight).

I mean what in the hell was Kubiak THINKING in having Kupp throw a pass which was picked off??? WHY???

Also, maybe I'm misremembering but it seemed Kubiak went away a bit too much from the run game later to me and had Sam pass more which made no sense.

The Hawks identity is to POUND THE F*CKING ROCK even when it's not doing all that much. Why? Because it forces the Defenses to stay honest and enables the Playaction to be effective. Simple concept, right?

I can't believe I'm finding myself being pissed after a win but that sh*t annoyed me.

Oh and speaking of annoying : ANTHONY FREAKIN' BRADFORD.

WTF was he doing?? HE ACTUALLY PULLED AN "ABE LUCAS" BY PUSHING HIS MAN *INTO* DARNOLD FOR THE "Strip-sack" that resulted in the TD for Houston. ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME?

EDIT : Okay correction. Someone said it may have been Cross but I don't care. It might as well have been Bradford who was f*cking terrible all game long.

Can JS please make it a Top Priority at the Trade deadline to find a replacement for this guy? Holy Cat-FISH-SH*T.

If the game wasn't a two-score game, Bradford (actually Cross but I don't care) would've potentially cost us the game (at the very least he kept Houston's faint hopes alive with that).

I would love to see what grade PFF gave him after this one.


At the very least overall, Sam was only sacked 2 times which is a big credit to Lucas and Cross from keeping Hunter and the other guy away from Sam for the most part.


And Speaking of Sam,

I will say he had an overall....DECENT night. That's how I will look at it.

He didn't resemble the All-Pro that we've seen the past week but against this Top D it's expected. Sam's not Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson.

Hell he's not even Baker Mayfield and HE got the same treatment by a very tough Lions defense with pretty similar numbers to Sam tonight, but I digress.

Sammy D had some key throws in the game that helped put the team in a position to score TD's and FG's which was very important.

The Pick was unfortunate (and I can only imagine the losers in media snickering about "ghosts" and other moronic stuff but f*ck 'em) but the Texans have a Top D for a reason.

Anyway, thankfully there was not enough time (and timeouts) for the Texans to make things scary as they shot themselves in the foot with a personal foul penalty that turned a 4th-and-4 into a first down, and thus the win.

HATED the fumble by Sam (who should've thrown the ball away as he had 3 seconds plus of time to do it) and it occurred at the worst possible area of the field but he held onto the football the rest of the time.



Bottom Line : This Texans Defense was no f*cking joke. We knew that going in.

And we saw it first-hand.


I'm just glad we came out of it on the other side with a MNF *WIN* (improving our record to 34-13) overall and our NFL 2025 Season record to a very important 5-2 going into the bye.

A very critical win considering the Rams spanked the Nose-picker and the Jags while the San Francisco Frauds basically got a freebie win because Michael Penix was a Michael P*ssy.


So...It's a bittersweet night, I know, for many of us with what happened with the M's but at least the Seahawks made sure the night wasn't a total disaster.
