I don't say this to be condescending, but those of us who accurately understood who Geno and DK really were are not one bit surprised by this season

This team won 10 games last year despite:

The defense not really gelling until halfway through the year
Geno and DK holding them back

That this defense continued their arc and that the offense is much better with JSN and Kupp (and a solidified line with Zabel) is not one bit surprising

At. All.
How did Geno hold this team back? He had less turnovers than Darnold did? Plus he played behind a putrid interior OLine, and had a horrible defense first half of the season. And still won 10 games. So how'd he hold us back?

This Seahawks team is f'n scary. I don't believe any other NFL team wants to play them right now. What other team puts up 41 points while their #1 WR is held to 3 catches for 19 yards? Just incredible.
... and Sam only needs what, 130 yards passing?

I believe that he'll have more than 130 yards passing. SF run defense was depleted so it was milk K9 until they stop him. I still believe K9 will have a good game but Rams will do better against the run than SF did therefore Sam will throw more. JSN will get close to 100+ yards receiving vs the Rams. Their secondary isn't very good. They are very opportunitistic and will catch bad throws. So the key will be to keep mistakes to a minimum like the last Saturday's game.

I was happy to lose Geno and DK. We all know what DK is. We didn't have to pay him and got Emenworri for him! Plus the Raiders gave us a 3rd for Geno. Just seemed like Geno has bad luck. And then not getting cute at the draft and taking the best guard.

When I saw that the over/under was 7.5 before the season started, I thought, no way, the Seahawks will win 9 games! Little did I know that my expectations were way too low.

With a new OC, I just wanted things to move in the right direction. For the offensive liine to be better than the bottom of the league, and for the run game to be close to respectable. I wanted Sam Darnold to be no worse than Geno Smith, and before the season started, I wasn't so sure that would be the case.

I knew the defense would be good, but not this good.

I've never seen a season like this that just came out of nowhere, exceeding all expectations.

His terrible red zone play and less than stellar leadership is not missed

Sam is an upgrade

The two are actually very comparable, with Geno having a slightly better first year with us. Not to mention doing all that behind a historically bad offensive line. As far as his leadership skills or lack there of, not one player, or coach has ever came out and said he lacked those skills, quite to the contrary actually. The red zone stuff I will agree with you on, that was head scratching....

I love Darnold as our new QB, but to sit here and imply Geno was a bad QB, and a locker room cancer while he was here is straight garbage. Why folks around here love trashing that guy is beyond me.

Sam first year stats
4084 passing yards - 5th
25 td's - 9th
14 ints - 34th
56.0- QBR - 19th
99.1 - passer rating
68.3% - completion

Geno first year stats
4,282 passing yards
30 tds
11 ints
62.8 QBR
69.2% completion
100.8 passer rating

Geno first year with raiders
4320 passing yards
21 tds
50.4 QBR
70.4% completion
15 ints
93.2 passer rating

Geno looked really good when there wasn't any pressure. Part of Geno's Red Zone problem could be the plays the offensive coordinator was calling. It makes a huge difference - you can see that Kubiak has improved in that area throughout this season.

I absolutely did not expect this team to be in the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP. Let alone, be sitting here at 15-3. Crazy stuff. I expect a close win on Sunday. But IF we lose, this season has been a huge success to me.

Someone telling me I'm satisfied losing in 3.....2.....1.......

After watching McDonald's handling of the team last year, we expected to make the playoffs easily this year. But yeah, hosting the NFC Championship is a pleasant expectations upgrade. Same here - the team's gonna give it their all, and if we lose a close one, so be it (as long as there's no Super Bowl 49-like finish). If my screaming means anything, we win on Sunday.

If the Hawks win their next two games they will go down in history as SB champs. But not just SB Champs. They will also be one of the biggest preseason longshots to ever bring it home.
That got me googling.
Looks like we would tie the 2001 Pats for second place.
Biggest long shots ever the 1999 Rams +15000

I expect the 2001 Pats odds were even longer a couple of weeks into the season when they were 0-2 and had just lost Bledsoe for the season and were going to have to rely on their back-up a 6th Round pick in his second season, with just 1 completed plass in the NFL in his rookie year and a not outstanding 5/10 for 46 yds after coming on for Beldsoe.
