He's been that way since the LOB. Sure they won a SB and almost another, but they were at the tops in penalities year after year.
Hell of a coach, but WAY too laid back with players who are having their temper tantrums. And yes, MANY of the LOB had their tantrums.
If Dad isn't gonna' do something about it, why stop?

It's interesting to see the atmosphere start to shift against DK. When he was extended, I got mocked for saying good teams don't reward players like DK.

Do you trade him? No. We're married to him. We won't get equivalent value for him on or off the field. So, the best case is working with him to fix the issues. That's pretty sad, considering we're having tantrum issues with a 25-year-old making 24M/Year. But that's the bed our front office made.

I’m sure you’ve been chomping at the bits to whip out the old “I TOLD YOU SO“ card huh?

Did anyone hear Pete Carroll this morning on 710 am Seattle? He completely made excuses for Metcalf , no accountability for his actions!!!

That disturbs me more than any other issue including losing the gamea. A game that was very winnable IMHO . #14 isn't worth what they're paying him.

I know Geno Smith didn't have his best day but I still support him and believe he'll bounce back.
For all we know he’s told Schneider to look for trade partners…

Could be he isn’t trying to bash Metcalf publically, while, it’s he’s in the process of looking for trade partners…

Let’s bash Metcalf and try to get as much as we can for him…

I’m not supporting Carroll for Carroll not disciplining Metcalf but to so publically might not be good for business moves right now, if indeed, Carroll and Schneider are also looking to move Metcalf.

Let’s just say, I’m not going to speak badly about Metcalf and I’m also trying to trade Metcalf at the same time….

Who knows what’s really going on…

That's how Pete's always handles these sorts of player outbursts, etc.

Guarantee you his personal conversations with DK is different than his media conversations about DK.

Not really. I don't think I am correct, at least yet. More people just share my perspective now.

In reality, DK is still wildly productive, and he hasn't (at least to our knowledge) been a cancer in the locker room. He's certainly hurt the team in games, but it remains to be seen whether that prevents us from winning. It might not. And I hope it doesn't.

22 catch’s on 33 targets compared to 23-35 for Lockett who leads the team. Not hard to understand the building frustration considering the top 8 in the league have double the targets. The offense is underperforming in specific areas that if they were more efficient DK’s antics wouldn’t be an issue.

3rd down % and RZ% in which they rank 30# at 31.6% and #20 at 50%

Better at 3rd and they have more balls to spread around, better in the RZ means more TD touches…more of those two things and I don’t think you would see the attitude and I wouldn’t care about penalties.

Personally I’m tired of the refs allowing every team to punk DK non-stop without penalty. And you know exactly what kind of things they say to the man..I’m like him standing up, wish he would’ve body slammed Ramsey on more than one occasion.

I didn't hear him this morning - but again I saw that presser last night.

"Great Freaking Game" - I was like seriously dude, WTF? You've got your quarterback shouldering the blame for the loss, and pod-people have stolen your brain.

I love pete - but I thought last night's presser was a serious WTF moment. Up the same alley as throwing your phone instead of the challenge flag.

I couldn't believe it. It's like he forgot there was an offense. I'm sure he's glad Adams is back and survived the game, and - contributed but jeez.

Great observation. I don't hate #14 but if they moved on I think they will come out the other side better off

Kind of OT, but I have a coworker that thinks DK is better than Steve Largent. And that he's the greatest WR in Seahawk history. Any suggestions and how to deal with this level of cognitive dissonance?

I'm thinking about going to diplomatic route of saying "it's different eras" yada yada. But I don't think that approach is going to work. Maybe I should just keep my mouth shut and let the season play out. I also need to add that I don't think he's ever watched an NFL game from the 1980s or 70's so that might be an indication of why he is saying these things.

Bobo is going to be a star. I'm sick of DK's attitude and penalties. Let's get a first rounder for him and get Cap room by trading this diva. He's just too costly for all that BS. And he doesn't catch everything. He's not Davante Adams or his old teammate AJ or even top ten.
You’d be surprised how big a difference an elite QB makes. DK would be putting up HOF numbers with a Rodgers quality QB.

To be fair, I never take anything any coach speak at face value. Don't have to go too far back to "not looking to trading Wilson" a few days before they traded Wilson. Coaches lie, it's part of their job.

When Singletary sent Vernon Davis to the locker room after a tantrum 15 yard flag (against us) that changed Vernon's whole career. Carroll doesn't have the gravitas of being one of the baddest men to ever play the game so I dunno if it'd have the same effect but it's clear the man child isn't getting the message. Something needs to be done. I love the guy when his head is on straight and I want him to figure it out here but he's had way too long to do so and have this result still.

Fixed it for you. Physically more gifted than Largent? Absolutely. Can he be better than Largent by the end of his career? Technically yes, if he gets his head on straight and keeps it there, though that window seems to be closing. But as it is now, Largent blows him away. DK needs his mind to grow into his man's body. He's playing like a petulant kid and it's hurting the team. I keep comparing him to the Vernon Davis situation and I think if he gets humbled and held accountable for his actions, he can turn it around like Vernon did. In my mind, week 1 should've been his only warning, especially since it was 2 flags in quick succession. Pulling that shit in a tight game is unacceptable. I'd have been 100% behind Pete if he'd sent him to the locker room. If you're frustrated and your response is to hurt the team... something's gotta be done.

Makes me wonder how DK would respond in the 1980's. if he gets frustrated with modern day defense's, imagine how pissed he would get with those boys back in the day when they could really get their hands on him.

Of course it all depends on the trade. Everyone has a price, even with cap problems. The bottom line is, however, the contract makes it unlikely another team would give up enough to make dead money/cap/talent loss worth the trade ... even when considering the addition by subtraction (of attitude).

That said, the off-season will be pretty uncomfortable for DK if he doesn't clean it up. I don't know how frustrating it is to be "open" and not get the ball. I can guess that it's more uncomfortable to be constantly discussed as a diva/trade target/child/overpaid/bad teammate... across sports and social media. That aspect will get louder and louder all season unless he chooses to grow up.

I don't think anyone in here would disagree with that. My first thought when he did that was bench his ass the rest of the game. Pete went beyond soft and sat him a few plays
