Mariners battled back but stranded too many at the end. I had to
watch it on some odd ball channel with the rangers broadcast team.

Astros lost, Rangers in 1st place. We got a few more games to go.

Disappointing loss tbs. Note to Mr Miller: getting a 1st pitch strike does not mean throwing meatballs up to the best hitters in the league. Let's hope Gilbert gets it tomorrow.

Nice comeback at the end, but gave up too much early to overcome. Hitters need to be less aggressive against pitchers like Dunning throwing breakers and sliders all day. Too many 1-2 pitch ABs early in the game.

Still got time, but it's running out.

Just a bad game plan from the beginning. Miller was too aggressive trying to throw strikes. We were way too aggressive at the plate, we should have made Dunning work more.

Worst part is not only did we lose but we used the pen quite a bit.

Bryce Miller and Bryan Woo aren't going to take us to the WS unfortunately.. I cant wait for the game on the 29th with my kiddo.. but.. Im guessing we are probably out of it by then but wont tell my daughter and we are gonna have a blast at fireworks night!

We just dont have a backend.... their great stats have not come against top tier teams

People seem to covet that stat... oh he threw 90 percent first pitch strikes! What is up with that?!

Well guess what, GOOD teams.. notice this and by the second time through the lineup... they are looking to swing and swing hard on that first pitch

We have to to win the next two.. going in high against the astros... if we get swept... this may be game over for the season :(

We really just need to win one of the next two, if we do that we will only be 1 gb of Texas, and who knows with Houston and Toronto.

We just can’t get swept by Texas.

The stat is meaningful. First pitch strikes set up the entire rest of the AB. The trick is to throw GOOD first pitch strikes, not middle-middle softballs. Rookie pitchers learn this, or they fall back into the minors.

Yeah Miller was not locating his first pitches. The homer from Seager was straight cheese.

Man, can't even get some runs in with guys in scoring position. Pathetic.

Pretty heinous 3 pitch strikeout with Moore and Haggerty on base from Cabby.

For the most, though, this has overall been a good approach to this game by the offense. Make the pitcher work, see a lot of pitches, get his pitch count up, and hopefully remain close when you get to the bullpen. Montgomery is at over 70 pitches through 4 innings already.

Texas scoring on the weak contact, that’s baseball for you.
