I don't think that happens unless it's a ridiculous amount of pics to move back. They are picking at 5 and it might be a QB
Picking a QB at 5 in this draft will set this team back farther than the Dan McGwire pick. As long as Pete is here and the offense is schemed the current way, there is no reason a QB should ever be taken in the first round. Especially the top 5.

Pick 5 must be a DL or trade back. Anything else is a major blunder this year.

This likely drops him out of the top 10, if not further. I wasn't keen on taking him at #5, but the problem is now that a team between 1 and 4 that was planning on drafting him will be taking someone else, perhaps a player we were targeting at #5.
Hot take, but I don’t think Carter was ever a top 10 pick. I suspect he wasn’t even on our draft radar to begin with.

As of the reports today. 2 misdemeanors is hardly deep shit territory. "...has been charged with reckless driving and racing..."
If he takes a plea deal, it will barely register as anything at all.
It will. Carter already has questions about his maturity and his dedication to the game along with his conditioning. Carter isn’t even going to sniff the top 10.

Filling in the posted gaps of this story ..........

"LeCroy, a 24-year-old recruiting analyst for the Bulldogs football team and graduate from the University of Georgia, was operating the car when it "left the roadway, striking two power poles and several trees" at around 2:45 a.m., police said in a statement issued directly after the wreck. Willock, an 20-year-old offensive lineman for the Bulldogs, was inside the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. LeCroy was transferred to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries, according to police." - https://www.cbsnews.com/news/jalen-...ersity-georgia-devin-willock-chandler-lecroy/

............... the party is over! Now dead along with her passenger. Nothing good comes from over consuming alcohol and getting behind the wheel after 2:00 am.

Agreed. Some team will get desperate at the end of the first and trade up. I say he goes mid 20’s

No thanks. A DT who puts his and others life’s in danger driving too fast. Seems we’ve been down this road before.

Don’t want to offend anybody, but similar to the Brandon Miller situation, I can’t help but think we are losing sight of the fact 2 people are dead. This is serious shit.

Me personally? based on previous reports I want nothing to do with the guy.

I is really hard ot tell what will happen some teams don't seem to worry about this sort of thing if they really like a player they sign him (e.g. DeShaun Watson and the Browns).
Unless it comes out that he is looking at a manslaughter charge while some teams might wipe him off their draft board others will still be willing to pick him. Unlike Tunsil teams will have time to look into the situation and decide what to do on draft day.
I think the closest case to Carter is Alec Ogletree. I believe he was thought to be a middle of the first round pick until he picked up a DUI charge. Ended up being picked at 30.
I agree with Lenny it is serious I wouldn't want us to sign the guy but I also wouldn't want Watson on our team. Driving drunk or racing risks killing people but unless the Police see it differently LeCroy caused the deaths and Carter got lucky.

Her dead passenger Devin Willock was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Remember this? I don't care how talented he is, I want nothing to do with him. After Malik, what happens to JS if he drafts Carter and Jalen is involved in a deadly car accident?

Henry Ruggs arrest: Judge rules results of a blood-alcohol test can be used as evidence in the case. The 22-year-old is now facing upwards of 50 years in prison

A lot of talking heads and draftnicks. Carter has always been known as a player that would take plays off. Not just "oh he's tired, lets pull him" but also straight up not giving much effort. Carter also did not play a high percentage of snaps on defense because his conditioning sucked. He noted it was an issue with him early in the year, it didn't get any better with him sitting out a huge percentage of his snaps because he was winded at the end of the year.

And yet I would assume many of these talking heads and draftnicks still have him going top 5, and have no first hand knowledge of his work ethic. Kid has been the Captain of the Bulldogs Defense multiple years while they have been putting out consistent players from the defense. I will admit conditioning can be an issue. But the kid took on so many double teams while still playing at a fair to high level.
