I really admired his loyality even though he annoyed me at times.
I tried to get him to come back and just start fresh.
He may be here under yet another name I don't know really but
do not be fooled on spelling because he can spell when he wants.
The spelling thing may have to do with posting from a phone. It always seemed worst when he was making quick take responses, like you woukd before you get back to your computer.

At tines, it's pretty obvious when I'm typing from my phone.

Yeah half the time I’m typing at a stop light on my phone.

This should not be hard for Hackett at this point. He has nothing to lose by trying everything.

1. Cut the entourage out of the facility.
2. Make Russ engage in those 7 on 7 drills with his own defense, same as he did with us in 2017. That only resulted in a si story because of Pete’s alleged coddling. That only staved off the inevitable, which is now here.
I don't disagree at all, but the problem is that the Broncos gave up any kind of leverage they might have had with Russell when they tore up his old contract and replaced it with that $1/4 Billion behemoth. What's Hackett going to do if he says no? Bench him? Go public with their disagreement? Is that going to help or hurt the team?

This is really a lesson in organizational behavior, how not to run a railroad. The Broncos aren't the only team that has granted more power to a player than their head coach, just the most visible. Aaron Rodgers, the GOAT, maybe one or two others that also enjoy veto power over their head coach.

What is Russ going to do in reacting to the new rules? Not practice? Not play?

I honestly don't know. You're right, Russell doesn't have a helluva lot of leverage, either. But it's never a good situation when your head coach and franchise QB are at logger heads.

If Hackett was going to get tough with Russell, he would have done it by now. His only hope to keep his job is to get things turned around, starting out with beating their rival the Chiefs, of whom they've lost 13 in a row to.

If Hackett can show that he’s willing to be a hard ass and do the inevitable, that increases his chances at getting to stay in the nfl at all.

Could be. Who knows how the ownership views Hackett, Russell, and/or the player-coach relationship between the two.

Personally, I think that Hackett is a dead man walking, that the season is already lost. Only winning a minimum of 4 of their last 5 will be enough to save his job. Beating the Rams, Cards, and Chargers isn't going to cut it. He's going to have to get at least one win vs. the Chiefs along with those other 3. If he sees it that same way, I don't think he suddenly feels it's a good time for him to take on his starting QB.

Jake probably thinking Russ was gonna get 3 Superbowls and leapfrog him to an NFL coaching career. What amazes me is how Jake is clueless on Me3's ceiling even though he's the coach.
I think the tie that binds those 2 is their religious background. I'm sure they both had an abundance of faith in the outcome

It seems surreal, the way that #3 has collapsed. He seems unable to adapt to his new circumstances. His insecure personality has risen to the top as he tries to be liked, but doesn't really seem to understand how to relate to most people. It also seems like he is possibly on the verge of some mental problems from the abuse he has taken through social media. Pete really seemed to be protecting him and now maybe he is almost broken.

The Broncos are stuck with his huge contract and missing draft choices with no budget to sign free agent talent. He will probably become hated in Denver as they face a future of @DangerPuss with no supporting cast...Broken Bronco??? How about that "Hall Of Fame"?

I think you're making a lot of assumptions about Russell's ability to handle the abuse that has come his way over these past few months. I do agree that he seems to fit the mold of people that want desperately for everyone to like them and that he was likely protected by Pete and others within the organization, but on the verge of a mental breakdown? That's a pretty big jump.

Nevertheless, your points are well taken, and I think that some of the things you've touched on is very possible, if not likely. Russell isn't used to losing, and it's no doubt has been a character building experience for him to say the least.

And yet, the ownership and fan based are still on lovefest with their GM, who traded and signed Russell Wilson with a contract that gave QB power over HC and personnel, plus all the office, entourage, private QB coach etc.,

Are they? I don't think we can make that assumption, either. From what I've seen and read, there's a whole lot of Broncos fans that want to throw the whole lot of them out the window, including Russell, Hackett, Paton, and the horses they rode in on.

I just read a pretty damning article about Russell:

Great players, they can overcome bad coaching. If you’re talking about a guy who aspires to be a Hall of Fame player, there is no way you should look this bad. People out there can try to blame Nathaniel Hackett, I’m sorry, this falls on the player, and this is very revealing, as far as Russell Wilson is concerned because I look at it in two ways.

One, you make this blockbuster trade and you have this stinker of a season. I don’t think that ever gets wiped away. You talked about time, I don’t think this will ever be wiped away as far as memory and what compounds it all is Geno Smith is balling in Seattle. That’s what makes this whole thing even worse.

Interesting point of view.

When a QB couldn't throw the rock with accuracy, nothing matters. Wilson couldn't throw the way he threw.

I am still baffled/confused by the contract extension. Especially since he didn’t play a snap in pre season with a new team, which is very odd IMO. I wish we knew what really was going on.

The extension was most likely part of the deal that got Russ to go there.

That's likely the case. It would be insane to rip up his existing contract with two years remaining on it unless they had come to some sort of gentleman's agreement before the trade. You have to give Team 3 credit, they worked this thing masterfully, covered all their bases. It's just one more thing where the Broncos were suckered, agreeing to an extension before they knew how this was all going to work out.
