Another 'hate' accusation?

Then there are 31 other teams that are biased so much they didnt care to bring him on before he was injured... for free? And i understand that Russ didnt want to just go anywhere because he wanted a chance to start and win games. But there wasnt even a list of teams (other than the Raiders - and that was rumor) who were even intereste din kicking the tires and seeing if there was a path to bring him any other way... again... for free.

The fans on the Steelers forums dont even care to have him start. Are they biased too?

Fact is that his time toward the end with Seattle and his 2 years in Denver proved what a lot of folks who watched him play here already knew. He was limited and benefited from being in an offense where he could do what he wanted.

Nathaniel Hackett wasnt going to let him do what he wanted. He's an OC and was a HC with his reputation at stake.

Payton also wasnt going to let him just run jibberish and when it failed or wasnt sustainable, be the one to take the fall for his scheme not working.

And his OC now also isnt going to put hos job on the line for a dude that cant or wont run half the playbook, even if what he can do on occassion is great... because its not sustainable.

But Pete cared more about letting what worked out ok and resulted in a win rule than he did about whether or not things ran correctly. And... thats why he isnt here anymore.

Russ can never start again because none of the HCs and OCs in the league care to give him a shot and criticism of him for what now EVERYONE knows is true will be seen by some as biased judgement...
Do you want to make a bet that Russ will be a starter again?

Least this is a fair take.

Except i know factually how much Russ would be clowned on for this.

Here lets make a bet.

I will say Russ>>>Fields for a career. $50 Bet? I dont see Fields ever doing what Russ did in his prime.
And honestly, there isnt a qb that i ever saw play that if the playbook was thrown out and you just had to rely on ONE guy to lead a last minute scoring drive that i would take over Russ. The dude was just blessed in that way to the point everytime he did it, you'd say to yourself ' he cant do that again '.

It was a special thing to know that no matter the score in the 4th, you knoew that Russ could start his magic and make something happen.

He was THE most gifted QB posibly in NFL history in that regard.

Some organizations view the QB position as integral for the progression of a team which is why teams build a team to bring in a vet or draft a QB on a five year contract. And then there are teams like the Steelers that don't view it as important and just want to build a good team regardless of the QB position.

You just said no HC or OC will ever have Wilson as a starter.
Russ will never start a complete season again, and we will never be a guy a team commits resources to to lead a franchise anywhere. On that, ill bet $100. Him starting again? If Fields twists an ankle, bhe could start again.

But no. No team will ever look at him as 'the Guy' again. And if he ever manages to beat his competition on whatever next team he ends up, it wont last a season.

Bet?

I think it is NFL policy that he has to go to the Raiders before he can retire - or am I incorrect??
