Kovacevic also reports that the story of Wilson and Smith having problems because Smith stopped allowing him to call plays isn't accurate. And that the story was sculpted by Wilson's PR team and agency to try and make his struggles look better than reality.

lol, oh Russ and his propaganda team, this comes as zero surprise to many of us. What a pleasant gift this morning, Happy Friday!

Mark Rodgers is part of the problem and has nothing on the side of solutions. Mark represents ONE client, Russell Wilson, he has no contacts or goodwill with front offices around the league. For the front offices that he worked with, John Schneider disliked him, I assume George Paton wants nothing to do with him either.

It was clear he was done at the end in Seattle
It was crystal clear he was done when Denver paid good money to make him go away
Why anyone is surprised that he was terrible in Pittsburgh is beyond me
Why do teams keep taking flyers on him?
Hang em up Russ

For vet minimum, Russ was good value for the Steelers.

Russ still has one of the best deep shots in the NFL and is more accurate than average.

When him throwing the ball was just the off-speed pitch to Pittsburgh's run game, it was a good match and use of his talents.

The problem arose because the Steelers' run game was more persistent than it was actually efficient. When they started to face better teams, they had to start asking Russ to do more and he just doesn't have more to his game at this stage.

Is there a team with a truly strong running game that just needs a QB to drop some deep dimes every once in a while to keep the D honest?

I think all the teams that fit that description have a QB already. Maybe the Falcons, but they already ran that experiment with Cousins.

I am taking the liberty to speak for Russell Wilson fanboys, as he is the most wronged QB in the league:

Pete Carroll's antiquated system handcuffed Wilson, John Schneider's lousy OL drafting limited Wilson, Bevell's wrong play call at the Super Bowl sullied Wilson, Hackett was useless, Payton was evil, Tomlin is a two faced XXXX.

And all the Geno Smith fanboys on .NET are blinded by hate.

So now Wilson has worn out his welcome with three teams in just over three years despite playing the most in-demand position in the sport. The front offices of the three NFL teams that know Wilson and his ability best don't want him near their teams. I greatly look forward to the Russellettes' explanations of why those teams are wrong and don't understand how to evaluate a player like Wilson as well as the Russellettes do.

Wilson only lasted two seasons (instead of just one) with the Broncos because the dead-money hit from cutting him was so enormous that they held out as long as they could and prayed giving Wilson the head coach he had wanted since he was with the Seahawks would at least push him up near the average-quarterback range. After two years, there was just no way to justify continuing with that contract for a lower-third-quartile (sixth-octile) quarterback. And despite the Russellettes telling us Wilson had actually played well in 2023, the Broncos were less unhappy taking an $85M dead-cap hit over two seasons than keeping him around. The Broncos will still have a $32M hole in their 2025 cap because of Wilson. Given how much and how quickly the team improved between 2023 and 2024 by replacing Wilson with a rookie quarterback who could actually run the head coach's system, imagine how strong the team could have been if the Broncos hadn't made the two biggest mistakes in franchise history - trading for Wilson and giving him a contract extension. Yikes.

Of course. The interception that ended the Seahawks' chances at back-to-back Super Bowls is the fault of everyone except the guy who threw it. Never mind the professionals who say it was a terrible throw and that a good throw, even with the wrong personnel and the wrong play, would have been a touchdown. Never mind that Lynch was open. Never mind that throwing the ball away would have given the Seahawks more chances. Saint Russell the Blameless can never fail. Any failure involving him can be because of everyone else involved, but never because of Saint Russell the Blameless.

Russell Wilson has basically become an NFL cautionary tale. How's that for a "legacy" there Russ?

Russellettes, don't let this insult slide, come on boys! Where is the great John63 when we need him? Defend Russ already!

Congrats to @Lagartixa for creating Russellettes, reminds of the great Rockettes of Radio City! 1739204501000
